I find people use phrases like "critical thinking" and "gaslighting" out of context.
People confuse "critical thinking" for common sense and "gaslighting" with being triggered
I'm not a fan of "cancel culture" as well. It's like using these phrases make people feel intellectual

"Critical thinking" usually means rehashing others opinions, but from a non msm source.

I always interpreted it as the ability to identify logic on every end of the spectrum. Also to be able to debunk your original thought.

"It is what it is." If it is what it is then don't state the obvious. Let it be.
"At the end of the day....." when it's used multiple times by one person within a conversation.

It used to mean taking means of different scholastic schools to form logical conclusions, but people who call themselves "Critical thinkers" aren't even close to that. They're what I said. They mistake contrarian for critical.

"Thoughts and prayers"
I mean if someone dies or is in a life threatening condition what’s wrong with that. If they suffer a injury that’s not life threatening than yeah that’s unnecessary.

"It is what it is" is actually great
It's mostly used against whiny little bitches that cant accept reality/an outcome.
"B-b-b-b-but its just not fair"

I see people on Twitter using "ratio" a lot and "gaslighting". Have no idea what either of them mean frankly. Pretty sure people are using both terms out of context.
The other term I can't stand is "bootlicker". Had a lot of effeminate pink-haired Liberals call me a bootlicker plenty of times on Twitter.

Gaslighting is a term in clinical psychology and stems from a movie iirc. It means you alter the perception of reality of your partner so much that he doesn't trust himself anymore and sees you as the only source for truth.
Ratio means how many per how many. Like one in a million for example. Could also mean using your intellect to deduct conclusions instead of empirical clues. Math is mostly rational science. Ratio also means reason in latin.

Better safe than sorry
Another question: Is the decision you make each day about how much to be terrified based on critical thinking...?
Or is it just based on the media/government/Bill Gates giving you a red light or green light at that particular moment? (Gaslighting, as it were).
Keep in mind, if you answer wrong you might be agreeing with Nazis!!!!

I know what the dictionary definition of these words are, but why are people using the term ratio on the internet, especially when discussing racial and social justice issues.

Took you too literally then. Most people use fancy words they pick up in conversations and misuse them later on just to look smart.

That's pretty much the basis of gaslighting. But it seems to be the cool intellect way to say triggered or abusive. It's a phrase weak minded people use.

The irony is Trump was a pawn all along, used (and probably selected from the start, the more I think about it) by the Wall Street-Gov-Media establishment to convince the public HE was the gaslighter... while it was the establishment breaking the rules and manipulating society all along.
The perfectly brash and inflammatory foil distracting all the generic woketard banshees, while their own “leaders” snatched up all the power and wealth and then blamed everything on the horrible Orange Man :lol
And of course, the slow, simple public fell for it and still dont have a clue they were played.
Brilliant stuff, frankly. These people know what theyre doing. Thats why theyre on top. The Usuals just cant keep up with this kidna stuff. They struggle just to keep up understanding whats right in front of their face. They dont have the skill to step back and see the whole chess board. It’s not in their makeup.

TOP TEN LIST OF THE MOST UBIQUITOUS AND ANNOYING WORDS AND EXPRESSIONS
1 “awesome” - Currently, possibly the single most overused word in the English language. It’s one thing to experience the “awesome” power of nature, but quite another to attend an “awesome” birthday party or eat an “awesome” hot dog.
2 “unprecedented” - Working its way on to the list as a result of being a non-stop add-on adjective to describe the coronavirus.
3 “iconic” - Overuse tends to cheapen and lower the bar on people who truly do set standards for quality and excellence.
4 “It’s nothing personal.” - The original meaning is something like, “I don’t mean to specifically disrespect you,” I get the feeling that idea has morphed into a different vibe: “I don’t acknowledge your solidity as a human being. You are so insignificant and unworthy of recognition that you might as well not be here.”
5 “Body of work.” - Artists such as Shakespeare and Mozart have “bodies of work.” Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, on the other hand, have “careers” and the statistics to prove it.
6 “We’re better than this.” - Used all the time in the aftermath of events like shootings by racist police officers and disgruntled high school students. “Better than this?” Really? Then explain why this Jason-like expression keeps coming back to life.
7 “At the end of the day …” - When one finds large numbers of athletes, in particular. consistently using this phrase as a discourse marker, you’ve reached a point of critical mass usage.
8 “winners” / “losers” - About as judgmental as you can get. Besides, who’s doing the judging? As for who or what constitutes being a “loser”, the only groups I’d include in the category would be people in prison or those who can’t keep a roof over their heads.
9 “For the kids” - Not of recent vintage, but still used as a somewhat melodramatic manifestation of the idea that we all need to live our lives in a way that will help to make the world a better place for our children. Sheesh.
10 “I take full responsibility for my actions.” A self-serving, desperate, last-ditch statement usually made after a long series of failed attempts to avoid being held responsible for some type of wrongdoing. Often delivered in an effort to save one’s job.

There are some advertising phrases that I really don't like because they imply something without actually making a promise. "Lose up to 20 pounds in one month with this simple diet adjustment." People read or hear that and they assume "Wow, that's an easy way to lose 20 pounds!" No, there was no guarantee what you'll lose any weight at all. Hell, you might even gain weigt. You hear it lots. A personal load that "could be in your back account as soon as tomorrow". Or, y'know, two weeks from now. The extended warranty for your car that "can cost as little as $150 a month."

To be fair people have blinders when they read things and only see what they want.
Lose "up to" 20lbs doesn't mean ACTUALLY 20lbs. The problem is now the ad is accountable for their weight loss.

Just heard another one on the radio during the Mavs postgame show after round 7. Ad for a credit counseling firm, and the voice said "here's a secret the credit card companies DON'T want you to know about". Followed by the bombshell revelation that it might be possible to negotiate for a portion of your debt to be forgiven, because your creditors would rather bleed you dry and leave you with nothing than have you declare bankruptcy and still hang on to some of your possessions. No, the real secret that the credit card companies don't want you to know is that the credit counseling firms all work for them, and the more money they can squeeze out of your stupid ass (stupid because you went to them in the first place), the more money they make for themselves.
