Mark Eaton the former Utah Jazz player and two-time NBA defensive player of the year, has died. 2 News learned of his passing from two sources close to Eaton. Eaton went for a bike ride around 8pm Friday in Summit County and did not return home. No foul play is suspected but his cause of death is not known (https://kutv.com/news/local/former-utah-jazz-player-mark-eaton-dies-at-age-64).

Even stranger with the recent Shawn Bradley story. What's with the influx of devastating news regarding big men on bikes? :biggums:

It’s very easy to have a custom bike built to your body size, especially when you have tons of cash.

Wonder if he had a heart attack. They found him unconscious in the middle of the road.

this is what my wife thought as well.
I have crashed my bike several times , road bike as well as mountain bike , and if Eaton crashed with no cause it could very well have been a heart attack.
He was a hell of a defensive stopper.
Everyone talks Malone and Stockton , but Eaton was the glue to their defense !
Dude loved working on cars, and I remember one of his favorite cars was a 1972 big bumper Nova.
(I remember that because I had a 71' low bumper rally Nova)

RIP. Didn't see him play but I think those Jazz teams with Stockton, Malone and Eaton would have been really good. I think they also had Adrian Dantley for some time.

He was 7-4. Embiid didn't play ball until he was like 16 as well. Plenty of bigs out there, who have made it based on their size & athletic ability alone.
