Julius Randle = 14.7 ppg on 24% shooting. Did Lakers dodge a bullet again?

At age 26 Randle has finally made his 1st playoff appearance and boy is it awful.

14.7 on 24.1% shooting.

Phew...they could have had an All-Star on their hands. That would have been awful.

Let's say Randle has an awful series. Not a stretch, given how he's played so far. He was still a 20-10 player. He left the Lakers as a free agent. I do not see how what he did in NO could have made it harder for them to obtain AD in trade, if anything he may have made it easier to trade for AD or he could have been their third scorer. How is any of this bad? Randle may be being shown to be not be good enough to carry a team in the playoffs. That doesn't mean he's a bad player, it just means he might not be a great one.

And he could still turn it around this playoffs.

never got the randle hype. sure his 3 point shooting improved a lot, but he still overdribbles and has traits of a blackhole. for new york's sake, randle better turn it around. those numbers are awful.

He still did improve, but he's no better Ayton despite his numbers
