Same for me, I saw little bits and pieces of 89 and 90 but not enough to say I actually watched the finals those seasons.

I stopped watching for a couple years as much when the Nets became terrible after JKidd left. Kobe rekindled my veiwership with his 2010 run.

03
08-20

Anytime the lakers were in the Finals i had no interest in watching because i knew they would win. When Karl Malone an Gary Payton joined the Lakers in the summer of 03 i flat out stopped watching the nba for a couple of years out of disgust. Didnt start watching against until the 07-08 season

Id watch a playoff series here and there but i wasnt into the NBA like that anymore and didnt care about the teams that were in the Finals for several years after 03 (i assumed the lakers would steamroll the pistons in 04)

+ i was a kid i was doing kid shit not watching sports

2015-2020

I got into basketball in 2012 was a casual fan until the 2014-2015 season

Didn't have a real team until the 2018-2019 season where I decided to support the Nets because they didn't have a fanbases at the time + they're a big market

my story is quite similar to that of mehya - if you're counting not live, then I've watched the series in full since 1983 (Sixers over LAkers), and if you mean live I've watched the series live in full since 1991 (Bulls over Lakers) and stopped watching in full after 2003 but still watched most of the games, with the percentage watched drastically slowing down after 2014

I've watched lots of the Finals games from before 1983 as well, particularly just about every available game of the Knicks chips in 1970 and 1973

in addition to this, I've watched the 2008 and 2009 series live in full, so:

live: 1991-2003, 2008, 2009 - 15 series
recorded: 1970, 1973, 1983-2003, 2008, 2009 - 25 series

Didnt watch all games of a series but I think I followed most since 94. I probably followed the 99 finals the least.

I should add that I had League Pass for the 2012-13 season, local blackouts applied then, and I forget which teams I purchased, but one of them was the Lakers, which is the only time I've bought League Pass, although there was one other season I considered buying it

ESPN also used to air lots of the best games over the web, so I watched lots of those, too

first was 1973 with family yelling at Wilt choking and milking another bogus injury on the bench, was that the one where he asked to go back in and was told to "sit the f down" on the bench?

every one of them since, the worst as a category were the Spurs wins, no opposition and very very boring years

True. 1999 was a joke against a Ewing-less Knicks team, 2003 ditto with Kidds Nets having no more help than Duncan's spurs, and 2007 sweep over bran.

I will say 2013 was extremely entertaining though. Even though they lost.

That's cause the Spurs went through the elite teams in the West before facing the Eastern Conference's best teams.

'99 Spurs beat the Blazers and Lakers
'03 Spurs beat the defending champ Lakers and the 60 win Mavs
'05 Spurs beat the 62 win Suns and the defending champ Pistons in the finals
'07 Spurs beat the 61 win Suns
'14 Spurs beat the defending champion Heat and OKC in the WCF

Spurs played their fair share of great teams.

This is straight trolling or the dumbest question ever if serious and anyone who thinks otherwise should never be taken seriously

How the hell could watching less NBA basketball history than more be more qualified debating NBA history? Personally, I'm glad I started paying attention to basketball as a kid in the mid 80s and even if I didn't understand all the nooks and crannies about the game as I did later on, I consider myself fortunate to have seen some of the greatest players and teams in NBA history at their peak. That's why when I talk to some old heads who have been watching since the Russell/Wilt H2Hs, I consider their takes more valuable than talking head idiots like Nick Wright whom I bet started watching when Shaq was already past his prime SMH...and that's why even if I don'talways agree with old hoops fans, I don't dismiss their take right off the bat since they have a better perspective than someone who didn't watch older eras, and I try to understand why they feel that way...

You sir, if not trolling, are a complete and utter moron.

(I missed two on purpose (Celtics vs Lakers) fed up with the run they had in the 80's-90's bird & majic)
2000's with Offensive fouling Shaq and Kobe (After Portland was victims of bad refereeing)

both '99 with last-of-legs D-Rob and '03 with Parker Spurs were fantastic defenses to watch, though, and '07 Spurs put the defensive clamps on in a dismal sweep of the Cavs, in fact we've had a lot of fantastic defensive champions at least as far back as the '83 Finals
