So lets say MJ plays until 2006 (18th season)
How does 2006 MJ do with these Lakers?

43 year old MJ? I'm sure he would not be clowning opponents when he is winning. And will probably shake the hands of the opponents if he loses.

It'd be like watching Harrison Ford try and do a 5th Indiana Jones.

MJ retired 3 times and still crumbled in year 14. He is soft. He could never sniff year 18.

Mike didn't need to play 18 seasons though. He accomplished more than Lebron in less years played.

True and besides that, just from a leadership and maturity standpoint, you would have thought that 18th year Lebron would be more resilient and resolved in losing. There were just too much theatrics (early celebrations and showboating) early on but ultimately when they started facing the reality of losing, he did not exhibit the poise and level headedness that one would expect from a veteran. That is 18 seasons long. I wish he had kept his teammates heads up in a loss and congratulated the other team respectfully. But he didn't.

MJ couldn't even make the play offs in his 14th or 15th season.
What on earth makes you think he could in his 16th, 17th or 18th?

36 year old MJ would’ve been the 1998 - 1999 season.
Year prior he put 29/6/4. Won MVP, First Team, First Team Defense, Ring, Finals MVP.
So if Jerry Krause returned the roster, let alone upgrades it as the Lakers did to their 2020 roster. Extrapolate that. With the fact the eighth seed Knicks without Ewing made it to the finals? He probably wins another championship another finals MVP, etc.
MJ was a winner. There’s a difference here.

Maybe LeBron should take time off and try to replicate the two times three peat success then.
Or does he need to manipulate another player of Anthony Davis is caliber to his team to succeed?
Better yet get into the playoffs or out of the first round? :oldlol:

Averages dont matter as much. Otherwise you are rewarding MJ for quitting early and punishing Kobe and LeBron for having a longer career.
Nope.

That's speculation though. Lebron "load managed" in 2019 and then recruited Davis. His second year in LA. With all that, he's still not as accomplished as Mike.

The idea that it's easier to take two years off is ridiculous af. No one can seriously think two years off with no basketball training will result in a higher upside. Bran stans remake common sense and create new theories, meanwhile, they're the epitome of stupidity.

It doesn't matter how MJ would do in his 18th season. This year does nothing to boost Lebron's legacy.

How does 36 year old mj do? Well at 35 he won a chip, fmvp, mvp, scoring title and first team defense so i think he'd do just fine at 36:facepalm
A total of more than three times of retirement.

And just answering to the Thread Michael would've had a consistent jump shot and made his free throws at that age.
