Actually I agree with several of your points or at least see your perspective. My real point was ALL the teams left in the East have shown grit and qualities capable of making it into the finals. The Hawks are clearly the least likely team to make it to the finals but anything is possible this season, every team has shown some vulnerabilities and one injury can turn any series around.


Trae is the Hawks best offensive player, but what Deandre was doing it on both sides of the ball. For us, he was the player that matched up against Lebron, KD, Kawhi, Randal type players, and he could switch 1-4 like Simmons. He can knock down 3s, and drive to the basket and has a very high basketball IQ. Every team needs that Pippen or Draymond type player and Hunter filled that role for the Hawks.

I admire Embid's putting his body on the line for his team. Deandre Hunter tried to play through the same injury and ended up developing another tear so Embid is literally putting his career on the line.

My beef with Embid is his body language, when things are going well his confidence and arrogance spills over into his teammates and the Sixers play better. On the flip side when he is struggling he looks consumed with self pity instead of playing through some of his team mates more. IMO, in order for him Embid to lead you guys to a chip he has to keep his poise when things aren't going well.

I can't really see Ben Simmons stepping up much more offensively in the playoffs because he is so uncomfortable shooting free throws and jump shots.
Embid is the key, if he can't play at a high level it's going to be a uphill battle for Philly. Tobias and Seth are good weapons but I don't think it's enough without Embid playing at a MVP level.

Avg 12ppg this series is face palm worthy considering the opportunities he’s had to score at the basket. So that’s what I mean with stepping up. Granted it’s not a significant step up to ask for 6-8 more pts. But along with that drawing fouls would be helpful. He refuses to do even that. One thing if we were up 3-1 or series was over. But it’s a 3gm series now. We go as far as MVP Embiid go but he knows Embiid is hobbled. Just be nice if he stepped it up a little these next couple of games. But I’m not holding my breath on it. Just saying it’s the least he can do. It would be a major upset if Atlanta were to win this series. And embarrassing for the Philly franchise.

Biggest problem with that statement is our 2nd best player this year is out for the season so were not healthy either sadly. Hunter is our best overall defender and a top tier defender at that without him being able to swap 1 to 4 on a teams best players on defense is hurting us big time. Cam Reddish being out is what makes this even worse as he is a really good defender as well right behind Hunter and usually was the guy to take the other teams best overall player thats athletic. We would usually put Cam on guys like Durant and Hunter on the stronger better players. Either way our wing defense without them 2 is in the gutter pretty much and i can only hope if we beat the sixers somehow cam can come back and play some defense in the ECF.

We really need to play Onyeka against Embidd for game 6 he has done a much better job against him and just in general when he's out there in much less minutes. Capela never quit, he played poorly but so did Bogi and Heurter. Lou and Gallo stepped up tonight, Onyeka had a good game against Dwight but let's be honest Embid would cook him like BQ Chicken. Young teams are inconsistent, earlier in the series Collins was playing poorly and Galo and Lou were struggling, but they helped seal the win tonight. The important thing is they stayed to together, never quit and figured out how to pull out a win as a team.

I don’t know if I underestimated Trae as much as I did his supporting cast. Trae gets buckets and what often gets overlooked or left out is his passing. He’s a tough contain. The random unsung hero’s of Atlanta I underestimated. I love Lou Will but didn’t think he would have a game this series where he was the spark to the comeback.
