NOTHING, but Durant does a long list of things better then him, and YOU ALL know it, but you'll deny it.

So what does Larry Bird do better then Durant?

Passing, rebounding, post D, off hand use, alpha leadership, toughness and perhaps clutchness.

Ahhh passing amd rebounding for starters. He's also a better leader. The game is 70% mental also so there is that. I don't think anyone actually thinks kd is a smarter player than bird

Better in the clutch.

Stone cold killer Bird was.

Replace KD with Bird and I guarantee you he matches the ring count and probably adds 1-2 additional rings somewhere along the line

Bird clearly does a few things better than Durant, but Durant does things better than Bird.

They are both top 10-15 talents of all time regardless.

Yeah, pretty much something you can say about all greats at this level. I feel like intangibles separate Bird and Durant more than doing a checklist of their individual skillsets. Intangibles here being aforementioned things like toughness and leadership, firmly in Larry's favor.

Also I feel like Bird, physically, doesnt have the same advantages to get off a shot over any defender, namely KDs length and height. Bird had to be more cerebral getting off shots.

There is one thing that Bird did better than any other player in Nba History and that was losing with HCA in the playoffs as he lost a total of 7 series despite having the HCA edge in all of them.

It should be noted that Bird's scoring rate & efficiency regularly cratered in the Postseason despite playing on some historically stacked teams.

His lack of athleticism put him at a disadvantage against the elite defences/teams who were able to gameplan against him for an entire series.

A bunch of different things rebounding, passing, leadership, toughness and being clutch no team hopper like Durant couldn’t get the job done and win on his own terms had to join a super team out in golden state to get over the hump.

Bird was Luka but with Durant's shooting.

Or if you want to look at it another way, Bird was Durant but with Luka's ability to beat you with his whole team, his mastery of team offense.

Durant works well within a team dynamic, but ultimately he's playing checkers not chess; he's not beating you *with* his teammates.

The defensive edge doesn't tip the scales; Durant isn't a dominant force on that end either. He might be the greatest scoring forward ever, and a top 15 player ever, but the real upper echelon guys have supernatural control over a game that Durant lacks. One guy can only score so many points.
