If Bird had lost in the 1984 finals then that would have meant that he would have finished his legendary career with only two rings and one finals Mvp plus he would have also suffered three finals losses to Magic despite having the HCA in two of those finals series.

If that was the case how would that change the way we view and rank Bird nowadays?

For me personally taking away Bird's ring and finals Mvp in 1984 would change his all-time ranking massively.

He now would have been utterly owned by Magic in college and in the pros.

He would now also have 8 playoff series losses in his career with HCA

And it does not help that Bird often throughout his career underperformed in the postseason relative to his regular-season play.

On another note with only 2 rings and 1 finals Mvp to his name, I do think that Kd depending on how successful Nets will be over the next couple of years would become in most people's eyes the second greatest Small forward of all time.
