Lebron James $41,180,544
Anthony Davis $35,361,360
Kent Caldwell-Pope $13,038,862
Kyle Kuzma $13,000,000
Montrezl Harrell $9,720,900 (po)
Marc Gasol $2,692,991
Alfonzo McKinnie $1,910,860

If Harrell opts out they are only like a million under the cap, if that. All the free agents can hold the Lakers hostage demanding to be overpaid or they walk. If they walk the Lakers won't have any tradable contracts but the ones listed because they will have to fill out remainder of roster with min contracts. Harrell should opt out and demand 20 million or he gone.

Lakers roster is straight f*cked if Schroeder, Harrell, Drummond, Horton, Morris walk out the door. Good chance most do walk. Lakers going to be paying the highest bill in the league to overpay mediocre players cause they have no other option.

McKinnie is team option btw.

Drummond was a minimum and so was Morris - easy to replace if they go. THT doesn't have any leverage and his best bet is to stick around on a short-term deal.

Harrell was a MLE so if he walks, we simply look for another MLE that is a better fit, perhaps at guard.

Schroeder is the only big question - I guess you could try to find a s&t for him, but it would have to be with his permission. It's going to be rough but maybe we can find someone willing to pay him 20mill/yr and try to get something in return. Attach Kuzma and a 1st round pick to it or something. Gary Trent Jr or Lowry would be a very good fit. I would try hard to s&t either Harrell or Schroeder or both in separate deals to get something in return. We need a decent guard.

$76m on a guy made of glass and a washed up guy that can't win without the guy made of glass.

The whole success of this team lies on ADs shoulders....they need to make some sort of massive change here....need to get rid of either one or the other.

Honestly, if they could flip both, they should.

Dead money. His final year being on the books.

Gasol is here one final year. Another team might ask for him if they agree to s&t with us for Schroeder or Harrell or Kuzma. Otherwise, I would keep Gasol.

The only sure players are AD, Lebron, KCP, and probably Caruso on a cheap deal. Matthews, Morris, Dudley would return for minimum deals only, which they are worth for depth purposes.

Wouldn't the Lakers want to overpay some of the minimum guys so they have more salary to trade away along with picks to hopefully get a better player(s)? Most teams couldn't afford to just overpay players into the luxury tax but in a sense you're creating extra cap space like that player is overpaid in a trade exception kind of way. 1 year 4 million even though they might be worth 1 million. Idk.... seems like a solid idea if Lakers willing to pay.

Sure, but other teams might not want the overpaid players. Maybe you can overpay by a couple million apiece on 1yr deals. 1yr expiring deals is the best way to deal with it and make them available for trade - only thing is I think you can't trade them right away if it's not a s&t. It would have to be a mid-season trade, and it's impossible to tell who will be available in middle of the season before the February deadline.
