Many people don't know this but the NBA archives have recently undertaken a massive project in the past couple of years that involves remastering all of their footage locked up in their vaults dating all the way back to the 1950s with Mikan.
And you can see examples of their incredible work in videos such as these that they have released.

Here is a question for everybody
What is the one player from 1950 to 1980 that you would love to see full remastered footage of him throughout his career?

For me it's easily Gus Johnson. He was an absolute genetic/athletic freak of nature that had the body of a greek god and it is said that he didn't even lift weights. Just inhuman.

I do personally remember seeing footage of one of the last games that the 76ers played in their legendary 1966 -67 season and if I can recall there was a play earlier in the game where Gus Johnson had dunked the ball over Wilt and when he slammed it on Wilt, he really threw it down, and you could just tell that Wilt didn’t like it one bit and was furious afterwards.
Later in that same game, Gus was out on the fast break, and the only man between him and the basket was Wilt. He was going to try to dunk on Wilt–again. Gus cupped the ball and took off–he had a perfect angle for a slam. Wilt then went up and with one hand he grabbed the ball–cleanly! Then he took the ball and shoved it right back in pure anger into Gus, drilling Gus into the floor with the basketball.
Gus afterwards was flattened much to the shock of the crowd which become dead silent as they watched him be carried out. It turned out later that Gus Johnson was the only player in NBA history to suffer a dislocated shoulder from a blocked shot.”

The obvious ones: Wilt, Russell, Kareem
Personal interest: Connie Hawkins, Elgin Baylor, Tiny Archibald.

Can you give some reasons on why you chose Connie Hawkins, Elgin Baylor, Tiny Archibal as the players you would like to see most from that era.

The game has evolved to a significantly more skilled level. No way I'd pay to watch less skilled players play. If I was interested in that, I'd tune in to the WNBA.

I'd also add Bernard King to that list. Can't believe I forgot him. One of my fav players growing up. The reason is simple. I'm a fan. There also isn't much footage on these guys. I also generally tend to enjoy NYC ballers.

If nothing else there is at least historical significance here. Why not see how the game evolved. History is always relevant.

I'd enjoy watching Wilt videos in HD abusing white dudes so hard that Trump supporters here would get all riled up.

As with any other "would you pay" question, it comes down to just how much I'm paying and what I"m getting for my money. There are certainly a few games from way back when that I wouldn't mind seeing in high quality.

Would drop coin for 80s Jordan footage. Especially his "lost" 50pt game @ Denver.
Think I've mentioned it before, but I read that Mike had like a YEARS WORTH of hi-litez in that one.
