Clint Capela and Bogi have excelled because of Trae's ability to get them open shots. Now everybody wants to act like their all-stars, trying to save face because Dallas failed to advance to the 2nd round.
This was not the narrative in the off-season Dallas was supposed to be better replacing a defensive liability like Seth Curry with Josh Richardson. This years team was supposed to be better defensively which was supposedly Dallas only problem last year.

:lol you really wanna bring along guys that will struggle alongside him like Wall/Kemba/Beal? Actually Beal might be good but you need more spot up shooters for Luka ball

Given his contract? 3 Years $100 million? And his injury history? The Mavs might not be able to give him away.

There's obviously a disconnect between Carlisle, Doncik, and Porzingas. Dallas might be able to trade P away for pennies on the dollar, but I personally wouldn't be ready to give up on him just yet. Stick those three guys on a yacht in the middle of the Mediterranean, or a cabin snowbound in the Swiss Alps, and tell them to figure it out amongst themselves. If they can't... maybe trade away P for whatever you can get, or maybe bring in a new coach.
