Mods what exactly do you do on ISH?

I'm confused since this seems to be not only the worst moderated bball forum, but maybe the worst moderated internet forum I've been a part of.

We've got tons of alts who only stan one player and constantly shit on every other single player not only currently in the NBA, but in NBA history.

We also have a few posters who are clearly struggling with mental illness and have a compulsion to constantly talk about the same topic daily, even going so far to consistently copying and pasting the same posts over and over again? I don't need to name posters since they are hear spamming daily.

What does it take to actually get some moderation around here?

If you see a VERY bad poster who is clearly INTENDING to literally damage discussion, please click "Report Post" and tell us what the person is doing, even in just a few words, so we can keep an eye on it, or delete the post or ban the person.

That said, starting literally this minute I'll be watching far more closely and when I see obvious troll stuff I'll start issuing one-day bans to help straighten things.

As for moderation, I still don't get why people are allowed to make 30 alts making this place a mental asylum half the time. If you're not going to ban them, at least look at their IP address and out their ass so we can make fun of them for doing it.

It’s generally because some older posters move on, while new basketball fans end up at sites with more promotion/visibility like reddit and realgm. So membership ends up below replacement levels. ISH is probably better off being a silly alternative than trying to do the exact same thing those boards do.

Are there even bball forums besides the two above that have more membership than ISH? I honestly dont know of any. (Relax, Jeff, Im not going anywhere!)

98% of the trolling is between the MJ and Lebron camps. I'm not sure why there just isn't one huge sticky thread to put all posts concerning the two there, and restrict individual threads about them. If you enter that thread you know what you're getting into. But, those topics draw forum traffic and that's basically all the owners here care about.

So basically, stop giving a fcuk about the quality of the board and fcuk around like everyone else, or find a different board if you actually want civilized discussion. ISH positions itself as a 'joke' forum and clearly gives zero fcuks about it. Once I realized that. I now simply sit back with a cup of coffee, chuckle at the nutcases and every 20th post I may type a serious reply on the 5% chance there's a serious topic to partake in.

Very poor moderated forum indeed. Posters like RRR3 and DoctorP have wished for my death on multiple occasions and I've reported each of their posts when they make these threats, and yet they are still posting on here terrorizing other people and myself.

If you truly want to know, I've stopped going to work and am basically a recluse now because I truly am in fear for my life. I only order delivery and these Uber rates are emptying my bank account pretty quickly. I am living in perpetual fear, and the only thing you mods seem to be doing is championing this behavior by not doing something to stop it.

i'll never forget the big kblaze purge sometime back that ended up being counter productive and reversed by jeff immediately. a small few like coin24, welfarefan and the usual whiney brats collectively spent a half year begging moderation to remove half the forum for the betterment of good bball discussion. everyone laughed because it revealed how they were truly convinced users thought highly of them as great posters with quality original material. and how much internet life means to them in general :ohwell:

unfortunately little did they think past the surface level resulting in a catastrophic rubberbanned e-fect. once Kblaze snapped his fingers removing 20 posters, a spiritual awakening that their daily routine of following Simon n Co around has seized to exist. which means so did lifes purpose.
