The three rings no one takes seriously.

Due to context obviously. Pretty sure we are all agreeable on that, correct? No full 82 game season. Super truncated seasons. Mickey Mouse bubble championships that felt more like AAU tournaments with no atmosphere or pressurized context.

You could basically subtract these fake chips from anyoneÂ’s resume.

This is why Lebron fans hate Jordan fans. Always trying to discredit the man.

Literally no one says anything about Duncan’s 1999 ring (except maybe a Kobetard)
You only added that in so your Lebron agenda wasn’t as obvious. Again, he’s not playing, why are y’all so obsessed?

No that one is equally as bad as the 2012 championship. Possibly even worse.

At least players kept in shape in preparation for the 2012 season. The 1999 season? So many people came into it out of shape and not ready to play basketball. Not knowing when the lock out would end. The eighth seed Knicks without their best player made the finals. It was terrible.

Out of those three, 2012 might be the most legitimate, but it has a lot of the same issues not taking it seriously as the 99 season.

2020 is just obviously erroneous.

I get the criticisms of '99 & last year, but 2012 seems really flimsy. So the season was shortened, so what? I bet there's been many seasons where a star player played less than 66 games during the season and won the title, nobody would even think twice about something like that. And it's not like there were any fluky results, the Heat & the next best team in the East after Rose's injury made the ECF, the 4 best teams in the West made the conference semis, and at worst two of the three best teams in basketball met in the Finals

Ray bailed him out, but lets give LeBron and his fans a little slack. Lockout\Bubble rings are one thing. A role player hitting a clutch shot is another. The latter could be said with all NBA champs.

1999 definitely was an asterisk season with only 50 games played compressed within a few months which killed the older teams with fewer days of rest in between games while teams with the younger and fresher legs getting the advantage. In fairness the Spurs could have very well won it all regardless of the situation.

on the contrary, 2020 was basically the NBA playoffs on Expert Mode difficulty setting, the hardest chip to grind out. props to Lebron for topping his 2016 masterpiece, but more importantly props to the 2019-2020 lakers on earning a chip in what is essentially a prison like setting. (both physical and mental)

Interesting thread op, did these circumstances give the champions any type of advantage that nobody else had?

Should 2021 also be an asterisk?? Most injuries to all-star players since they began keeping track, 72 game season, so many back-to-backs, no fans until playoffs.

Lol, I didn't even think about that. This season had a whopping 6 more games than 2012 and had covid precautions the entire regular season. I have a feeling though he's not gonna consider it an asterisk ring :lol
