Well this isn't really a true or false thread. Luka is the most profilic NBA carrier/traveler sense Isiah Thomas when he played for the Celtics, which is why HE was able to score so much.
When your playing defense on a guy and he's carrying the ball it makes it harder to stay in front of him, which is what Luka does 90% of the time.

Everyone carries the ball nonstop.
Yep. And almost everything is a travel by the original rules.
The only thing I don't understand: if it is allowed why not change the rules? It's okay changing the rules. Ii's not okay not to enforce them.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court.

He doesn't carry the ball more than anyone else. He is unstoppable because how skilled, crafty he is and how well he uses his strong round body.

All the tall ball handlers do. It’s the only way for them to change direction in a way that mimics small guards. The nba pretty much manufactured a gang of Magic Johnson’s by looking the other way on violations. Magic protected the ball at his size with his body. These guys just carry and travel all over the place to the extent they know the nba won’t ruin a game by calling them.
Luka, Lebron, Giannis, KD....all of them carry all the time. Magic dribbled legally and sprinkled in a carry or two. These guys carry and sprinkle in a legal move or two. But the standard is set at this point. They are obviously all skilled at what the nba chooses to call legal ball handling and it’s not like I’m saying we were better back in the day. I’m just saying....I was called for carries in back yards for doing shit KD does standing still dribbling.
But the nba banned extended post ups so big guys have to pretend to be 6’1” and they can’t change direction quickly enough legally.
The Penny types are rare. Hell Joe Johnson dribbled more legally than most of these guys. And maybe even Lamar Odom. Tmac and Grant Hill usually too though I’ve seen Grant with some heinous shit bringing the ball up just spinning it in his palm.
It’s hard for tall people to legally be primary ball handlers vs pressure. Nba decided to pretend it’s all legal instead of making them play within the rules so here we are.
You’d laugh at the visual but a guy like Muggsy with 90s rules would turn some of these guys to off ball players for a night.

luka is hard to stop for the same reason lebron is hard to stop. he has the perfect blend of size, strength and just enough quickness and hesitation to get guys his size off balance. smaller guys don't have the strength and with the new rules a guy like that can just bully his way to the rim. nobody can body them up or hand check. and when they get close to the net they just push you out of the way with their dislodged maneuvers. plus they can find the open guy so defenses can't collapse on them
these 2 guys wouldn't be running the offense in a real era

Luka is hard to stop because he's elite on all 3 levels. Unlike Lebron, you can't give him any space to shoot, so he's basically unstoppable, unless you double/trap him and live with his teammates shooting wide open 3s and layups/dunks.
Shot 85% inside 3 ft and was above 50% from mid-range and above 40% from 3 against the Clippers' elite defense in the Playoffs while also putting up 10 assists a game. Averaged 35.7 PPG, but could have put up 37+ PPG if he shot his usual % from the FT line.

Luka has a step in push off slightly then Euro step back, it's his signature move so the Ref's don't call the offensive foul, nothing to complain about because every superstar player gets away with certain things even aggressive defensive players & teams get away with extra physical defensive pressure because of their style they get away with physical defense, that are called against other teams.

Maybe a little. For the most part he's hard to stop because he's really good and the rules make scoring really easy. It's a recipe for insane stats.
