Keep the format as it is, just have two seasons a year with two months off between them. 29 games per season, two month season. Scheduling can be done in many different ways. Then playoff starts as usual.

I'd rather have a 58 game season, play every team twice. With how little star players and teams seem to care about the regular season, there's absolutely no reason to have an 82 game season anymore. But obv the league will never change it and lose all that extra revenue

Your format would be way too big of a detriment for team making deep playoff runs, look at how banged up the final 4 teams from last season were due to such a short layoff, you'd significantly increase the chance of injury to star players on contenders

Would be down with 58 game reg...each team home and away.

82 is pointless

Not necessarily opposed to it, but not sure it would be better. Seems like you're top-heavy with playoff games, which would send a bunch of extra revenue to the better teams, while penalizing the teams towards the bottom. If you're, say, Detroit, you only get 29 home games per season instead of 41. That's a huge revenue loss. There's no way your smaller market/historically losing teams would agree to something like that.

There are ways to circumvent that. Such as 5 games series before finals.

There are revenue sharing models that can be implemented. You can also do top 12 teams go to playoff with top 4 teams getting byes.

I wouldnt be “opposed” to it, necessarily, but I’d want to be sure it was something that Lebron was comfortable with, and that it had his seal of approval before the league makes any kind of commitment to altering the format.

Need to just start labeling players by a star tier system.

Teams can’t have more than 2 on a team.

Balance the power. Keep games at 72.

The coddled era. This generation of players are so fragile.

This is the format for mexican soccer but it wouldn't work for basketball. 4 rounds of LigaMX postseason wraps up in 3 weeks. The NBA is in the middle of their second round.

Why would you want to do this?
