Below is a list of the top failures of Lebron's career. These are just off the top of my head, so feel free to add to what I may have forgotten. Give me your top 5, honorable mentions are also welcome.
- 2004 Olympics bronze medal
- 2004 and 2005 missing the playoffs entirely 2 years in a row to begin his career.
- 2007 Finals sweep in which he only shot 36%.
- 2009 ECF loss with homecourt advantage and Orlando missing an all-star.
- 2011 Finals loss in which his team had 3 all-stars (including himself) to Dallas' 1 while also being outscored by a 33 year old bench player who played 67 less minutes.
- 2014 Finals blowout loss in which he set a new record for highest average scoring differential per game (14) in Finals history.
- 2018 Finals blowout loss in which he set a new record again for highest average scoring differential per game (15) in Finals history.
- 2019 missing the playoffs entirely his first year in the West (even after activating playoff mode).
- 2021 1st round exit against a team led by a playoff virgin and a 1-armed Chris Paul.
- 6 Finals losses in total.
- Allowing his primary assignment to win Finals MVP 4 times.
- A myriad of playoff disappearing acts:
-2007 Finals game 1: 14 points on 25% shooting
-2008 Conference Semifinals game 1: 12 points on 11% shooting
-2010 Conference Semifinals game 5: 15 points on 21% shooting
-2011 Finals game 4: 8 points on 27% shooting
-2017 Eastern Conference Finals game 3: 11 points on 31% shooting

2017 getting outplayed by Kevin Durant was kind of rough. Lebron played well offensively but did nothing on defense and his direct rival outplayed him.
Don't forget 2010 as a candidate. He put up decent stats but he was terrible the last three games of that Boston series. He looked dejected.
2009 was bad as a team result but I wouldn't blame Lebron for that one. He played out of his mind. In fact 2009 and 2015 are his two really good performances in losses IMO.
2008 is a bad series. He shot terribly and was just hot garbage through the first few games and the only reason this failure gets overlooked is that he had a really good Game 7.
2006 World Championships losing to Greece also not a great look. Nor the 2006 playoffs against the Pistons...

For me, 2011 is the biggest knock on his career. He joined up with two above-Pippen caliber players who the year before were no. 2 and no. 4 in Player Efficiency Rating, predicted not 1, not 2, not 3 , not 4, not 5, not 6......, and came out and completely disappeared against the one-trick pony Dallas Mavericks. He now has a playoff first round exit to add to his resume, he's missed the playoffs 3x, been swept out of the Finals 2x, with 6 Finals losses. On the game's biggest stage, he's had some of the biggest failures of all-time. Who can forget Lebron being carried off the court against the Spurs because he was cramping, but no one else had to be carried off.

I also forgot about 2018 Finals game 1 in which he forgot he had a timeout. That was a massive blunder as well.

2012 lockout ring after being rigged past Boston
getting a hair transplant then having it fall out on national TV
whipping his tiny d*ck out on national TV
calling himself the goat cause of a rigged.2016 title in which he actually had the better big 3 and saying the bubble ring was the 2nd hardest one ever lmao
just too many to list

For 2021, you can emphasize that they lost back to back blowouts when AD did not play and this is after he said his shoulders were made to carry the load.

continued....
getting soft picked off Durant in game 3 of the 2018 finals
refusing to go 1 on 1 with kobe in the allstar game last minute showdown
getting blocked twice by kobe in the same game
signing anthony davis to clutch sports so he could rig him to Los Angeles and revive his failed career out west
switching to number 6 and saying it's because wearing the #23 is disrespectful and nobody great ever wore #6 then switching back to #23 4 years later and calling Dr J top 3 all time (who wore number 6) and forgetting bill russell ever existed
comparing Bill Russell to jud buechler
saying kobe took over his body for a reverse dunk and that he was riding on his shoulders that year to help kobes legacy
telling Devin booker to be legendary after his idol kobe already told him that and already had it tattooed on his body in tribute to kobes death

How about getting blocked by 5'5" Nate Robinson (who got brutally knocked out in boxing) during the 2013 playoffs?

LeBron James said in 2010 in Dallas Stadium, I'm putting my name [preliminarily] in the dunk contest. He never did it. In fact, he never joined any slam dunk contests because he simply couldn't handle the pressure. If the slam dunk contest was made into a team game and Wade/Bosh could dunk with him, he would have joined.

If Lebron joined a Slam Dunk contest and lost, he would blame the other contestants.
