Likely due to the shortened, compressed season.

There were already an NBA record number of all star players getting injured in these playoffs, which isn't even factoring in regular season injuries to the league's best players.

Now Kawhi might be out too? Man, it really feels like there have been so many potentially asterisked championships ever since the Warriors won in 2015.

True, but it's also made things ridiculously exciting -- in a reality TV twist kind of way.

People like to put an asterisk on the bubble. I think they should keep that same energy for this year because of all of the injuries.

This dude is gonna asterisk championships but not the Warriors in 2015 when they faced an injured team every round lmao

The scary thing is they might destroy it further. A bunch of guys like Mitchell, Embiid, Harden are playing through injuries.

Isn't that what he just said? Ever since the Warriors won implies it.

What's stupid are the great matchups left on the table. Doubt CP3s protocol issue is prolonged, but if it is....

Yea this is next level injuries... I know I posted this before but the bucks still have the best shot at a title I think with great odds. Giannis is indestructible and Middleton / Jrue never get hurt either. Nets could still lose and then they would have crippled Sixers and Jazz likely who they can beat.

We're finally going to get a NEW champion... This is easily the most exciting basketball in the last 20 years. Who the **** wants to keep seeing a colluder get carried to the finals? Or Boston again? Or the Warriors again? Or Spurs? The finals have basically been on repeat for years, it's ****in' boring.

Same as last year...and the year before. Despite better preventive care, injuries are up compared to 20-30 years ago. Probably has to do with the fact that quickness, explosion and turn of direction are a much more prominent part of the today's game. That stuff is more likely to injure you than banging in the paint. Reason #134 to bring back hand checking.

Lmao

The Hawks are missing their second best player

De'Andre Hunter is not their 2nd best player. He's lucky to not be considered a bust.

You don't know the Hawks team very well. De'Andre is the 2nd best player and he was playing better than any one on the team before he got hurt.
Atlanta had the 4th most injuries of any team in the league this season and the only one who made the playoffs with so many key players missing extended time. Deandre came back in the Knicks series and shut down Julius and guarded Rose when he got hot.
The Hawks are missing both their starting wings and best defenders Deandre Hunter and Cam Reddish but people claiming they are healthy.

This season is an asterisk bc the nets got injured. Toss it out and start anew
