Any democrat willing to have a meaningful discussion regarding 90% of insurance policies offered through the marketplace? I would be willing to bet if you actually had an understanding of insurance and what was being offered you would realize that the only winner was the insurance company.

A 400 dollar premium, 70% paid by uncle sam makes it ~100/month for insurance that one wont get to use until they hit their $5000 deductible. So what use is this for the average american?

The Republicans have been talking about repealing this for a decade. Serious question, how did Obamacare survive after 2016 with Trump as president and Republicans controlling congress? I know they tried to pass a bill that McCain voted down, did they just never try to implement another plan after that?

republicans don't have a plan, and neither do democrats. trump ran on 'covering everyone', but never provided or pushed a plan. biden ran on a public option but hasn't spoken about it since the campaign. funny how the #1 issue in america according to polls never gets talked about, huh? the media has everybody on both sides running around in circles over the culture war, jan 6th and covid19.

Does it matter? Any plan the Republicans come up with will immediately be shot down and vilified by the Democrats and by their Propaganda Arm, the Mainstream Media. They could have better options for Americans and it wouldn't matter.

Big Pharma and insurance companies have bought out all these politicians. They will fight it tooth-and-nails to not allow any drastic change to healthcare.

It's nuts. It's not just insurance companies. Even medical stores are cashing in on the scam. If you buy some medical equipment like bipap machine in cash, they will charge $400. If you buy the same item through insurance, they will charge insurance double that. Ultimately, that bill will come back to you through higher premiums. The kicker is that they wouldn't even report the cash purchase to IRS and report it as a loss to reap the benefits of tax credit.

Doctors are cashing in on it too. They bill higher rate to insurance + collect co-pay than if they were to take the same patient in cash.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the extra money sitting around to buy everything in cash. If you are rich, buy every piece of medical equipment in cash. You don't need insurance as a rich person because you can afford to pay cash for everything. Even if you get a heart attack, you can pay the medical bill directly out of pocket. Our medical system is already a scam, but it's a bigger scam if you are not rich. You don't control sh!t if you go through insurance, and you can't even do price comparisons from place to place (they have to run the insurance to see what their internal agreement is). You are at the mercy of your insurance company, big pharma, doctors and medical provider for like DME.
