He took the Heatles to 7 games in 2013 (6 games in '12 & '14) and was one blown defensive play away from potentially winning the series (he also had 8 first place DPOY votes in '13).. he also held Bran to 22.8 ppg in the 2014 ECF and outscored him in that series..

So PG did more as a #1 option than Pippen (2 ECF, now potentially WCF without Kawhi) and is also one of the best defensive wings of all time and has improved as player to where he's also as good of a playmaker and a much better scorer.

If George wins this series against the Jazz (#1 record in the league, top 5 offense & defense, George is averaging 29/10/4 on 61%TS) to make his 3rd Conference Finals as the #1 guy, there's 0 debate IMO that he's better than Pippen.
