They won with choke Rivers despite him trying to give it away to the Hawks :biggums: no other team has overcome Rivers.

No, a GOAT team dominates the Playoffs. Look at how bad Lebron was in the first 4 games of that ECSF, and how it was still 2-2 and could have easily been 3 - 1 for the Cavs, if Lebron didn't go 2/18 with 10 TOs in a 4-point loss in Game 1. You guys might have had the GOAT defense though, which is why you survived all those bad offensive games before erupting from 3 in the Finals.

Once they ditched rivers coaching in the later rounds they flourished. They dispatched your Lakers in 6 games with the final game being a massive beat-down

Thibs' defense made your squad one of the GOATs. I'd put the 2008 Celtics on par with any of the Spurs' defenses in the early 2000s.

Rondo = Draymond
KG = Kevin Durant
Pierce = Curry
Allen = Klay
They were pretty much a 2000s version of the Durant\Curry warriors. Also had elite role players like James Posey and Perkins. Even a dumbass like Doc couldn't mess that one up, he did blow a 3-2 finals lead in 2010 though but that was after KG's surgery.

Every player on the Celtics is significantly worse than their Warriors "equal" with the exception of Rondo

Even with a past prime KG and Allen, that team was able to deliver right from the get-go.

I think the Celtics bench was better

What? :oldlol: Prime KG isn't that much worse than Durant. Curry's the only player on that list "significantly" better than his counterpart. Boston clearly played down to their competition, but are also one of the GOAT teams. Crazy thing too is that the 09 version would've been better. Injuries caught em.

'08 KG and Ray Allen are comparable for me. Ray was better than klay.

Y'all are tripping. While the thread is about the '08 Celtics, he specified them throughout their run, so yeah, even if you narrow it down to just their Finals run, '17-'19 KD/Curry/Klay take a giant dump on '08-'10 KG/Pierce/Allen, honestly not even close

OP was talking about 08 though. As individual players, Steph is the only dude on that list WAY better than everyone. I'd probably take Durant as well, but some are higher on KG than me. Realgm for a fact is. I only mentioned 09 as a what-if. They would've been even BETTER without injuries. Before KG went down, they looked flatout unstoppable in the rs.
If 08-10 is the comparison then ya, the Warriors were better.

So, you say Kobe beat 2018 GSW level team with a team which is not a big 3.

Kobe beat a 2018 GSW-level squad with Kevin Love as a 2nd option.
Gasol 2010 Finals - 18.6/11.6
Love 2018 Finals - 19.0/11.3

Thats alright, but I saw that lakers won g1. I think it wouldve been more impressive if he cried on the bench after his teammate made an error and blew the last 5 minutes of that game.

Yea Garnett notably slowed down but so did the warriors. KD couldn't finish 2019. He literally didnt play. Klay too couldn't finish 2019. At least 2010 Garnett played. 2008 Garnett was still prime and totally dominant. Ray Allen more well rounded than klay. But curry > pierce so it comes out fairly even.

It’s tough because Pierce was a much better defender and could play bully ball in the paint
Doc's successor, brad stevens, didn't do much better for the team though.

This is true. However Doc was given keys to a Ferrari ( guaranteed chip)

1989 Cavs..... #1 SRS... #1 Net Rating... 3 all-stars... +800 preseason odds.
2009 Magic... #4 SRS... #4 Net Rating... 2 all-stars.. +2000 preseason odds
Mo and Pippen both wet the bed, but Jordan still won because of Jordan's superior play and clutch.
The victory changed the fortunes of the Bulls' franchise, while Lebron's upset loss to Dwight was a foundation for his "decision" to start stacking the deck.
