/quote]After losing in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers could be preparing for a very busy offseason.

Trade rumors involving the Lakers have already begun to percolate, and veteran guard Kyle Lowry could be a target for the team.

“Expect all three teams that kicked the tires on Lowry at the trade deadline to explore his availability once more,” The Athletic’s Eric Koreen wrote of the Lakers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. “The Heat have the clearest path to acquiring him, while the Lakers’ contracts that they could move in a sign-and-trade are not overly desirable, although there is likely a deal to work out if both Lowry and the Lakers are deeply interested.”

Adding Lowry would be a major move for the Lakers. It seems the team already recognizes the value he could bring based off the fact that the Lakers targeted Lowry prior to this season’s trade deadline.[/quote]

In what will be LeBron’s final two seasons, in which he has described as The Final Dance, LeBron is set to recruit a trio of NBA superstars! Starting with the offensive juggernaut in Kemba Walker. Then the ultimate enforcer, Kyle “Holyfield” Lowry! And finally, no other than the original Walmart manager, LeBron’s kryptonite, The LeBron stopper, the King to his Prince, J.J. “Mama there goes that man” Barea!

I think Lowry is due for a major age related fall off.

The only way they can make salaries match is if they sign and trade Schroder and I doubt Toronto wants him

I don't want Lowry. We need shooters.

lakers have too many dummies on the current team. kuzma drummond schroder caruso all low-IQ in their own way.

this is a great move because it fixes that low IQ problem and gives another legit ballhandler during the contending window. AD and lbj will be back at full strength next year.

not a coincidence that rondo thrived last year. he filled a needed role.

raps are rebuilding regardless so this can be a win-win if they're willing to get another team involved and part with a few assets.

Love Kyle. He's been the most hard working / loyal player in Raptors history. I'd hate for his legacy to die on a LeBron team. It seems like every player that joins LeBron doesn't end well. Only one that survived was Wade. Maybe because he was the leader of the team and not LeBron.

Chris Bosh
Kevin Love
Kyrie Irving
Marc Gasol
Anthony Davis

I like it if it’s not too long a contract. Better 3pt shooter and passer than Schroeder and won’t hurt the defense. Won’t cost that much more either

Need more than that to carry LeBron up and down the court. If the playoffs previewed LeBron's game moving forward, expect no defense. Short bursts of star play, but a lot of empty calories.

Lowry is looking for a 2yr short deal, while Schroeder wants a 5yr deal. Per year, Lowry would be like 4-5mill extra but it's worth it for a short deal. I think the reason why Lakers didn't do it initially is because they know LeBron might be retiring in a few years as well - they would lose Lowry and LeBron together. They were hoping Schroeder could be long-term solution even beyond Lebron. It doesn't seem viable at this point. Might as well just go with the win-now mode. Forget about 3-4 years down the road.

Schroeder got too much hate this year but he’s no long term solution. Davis/Schroeder goes less far than Davis/jrue did which struggled to make the playoffs some years

the lakers dont need that much from the pointguard spot I was one of the guys that defended schroder because of how he balled in okc but in hindsight its obvious that he is a bit reckless and low IQ meaning the posters who said rondo >> schroder were right specifically doranku

at the end of the day the lakers are a two man team. if AD was healthy they might've been able to withstand the low IQ of drummond kuzma etc etc but without AD they were destined to fail regardless, even if they escaped the first round

what they need is a little bit of leadership. someone who wont turn the ball over and make stupid mistakes a la rondo. lowry can do that. his game isn't based on athleticism he's a stocky fat **** who can drill shots. that's not going to change.

if the lakers were willing to give up THT they would've already had it done and if they can get a two year deal its still a GREAT move. this is coming from someone who wants lebron to get another ring.

I think people need to temper expectations. The lakers with Lowry r a very good team.
