This year's first postseason is weird.

First you have joker being named the 2021 mvp and his team ended up getting swept in the semifinals against the suns.

Then you have toody as the 2021 dpoy and the jazz went up 2-0 against the clippers in the very same round, only for them to get backdoor swept in the next four games.

What's worse tho, is that it happened with some players from LA missing games here.

I do feel bad for Rudy as he takes the blame for everyone else on the team playing poor defence. The media thinks just because he’s DPOY no one should ever score on him.

His teammates are so used to him picking up the slack and taking the blame for their poor defence efforts.


As far as fans blaming Rudy for his poor defence. He was bad, but yes, obviously it's not all his fault. He was being asked to move out to the perimeter to guard 3's, which is counter to his traditional defensive mindset. I think Rudy gets a lot more flack in this series though for his poor, mechanics for lack of a better word. His offense was awful and he's quite literally, just bad at rebounding on both sides of the ball.

Traditional centers who like to play drop coverage have never been effective in the playoffs. Marc gasol always sucked in the playoffs as well, outside of the 1 season he had playing with Kawhi.

The best big man to have in this era is Draymond Green.
