This game is most well known for the Blazers 4th qtr collapse, giving up a 15 point 4th qtr lead. And of course the famous Kobe to Shaq ally to ice it and help lead to Kobe/Shaq's first title. But a closer look shows the Stern machine at work like it was in the 2002 WCF.

The Most egregious calls in my opinion, are the charging call on Wells, the carrying call on Smith, the 2nd and 5th fouls on Sabonis, and the no-call of Shaq's would-be blocking foul on Smith, in light of the blocking foul called against Grant earlier.



And there were also a bunch of 3 seconds calls that were not made on O'Neal, especially in the 4th.

I can't let Portland completely off the hook for how badly they choked in the 4th, but a lot of those calls were legitimately bad. The Bonzi Wells charge and the no call on Shaq are just preposterous :oldlol:
