This is the first time in over a decade that lebron hasn't looked like the best player in the world. Father time is undefeated so this point had to happen eventually. Do you guys still consider him top 5? A legit case could be made for greek, kd, luka, Embiid and kawhi. Even steph has aargument over bron at this point.

lmao steph is clearly better than lebron, it's not an argument. and there's more that's better also

Wrong.

LeBron was leading the MVP race before Solomon Hill fell on him.

He will lead the MVP race again the next season.

Based on the last 8 mvps, he hasn't looked like the best player for 8 years.

harden
durant
kawhi
giannis
luka

are all CLEARLY better than him it's not even debateable.

It's definitely not clear but he does have an argument. He's clearly a better scorer than bron now that bron has declined a little but bron is still better at everything else

Can't really use mvps. None of those mvps were the best player in the world. The closest would of been steph 5 years ago but bron was clearly better than steph. The 2016 finals made it painfully clear.

I don't man. When the cliff comes it comes fast and shit can change almost over night. This may not be the case but it's kind of looking like it.

Based on what? If you trade an injured klay, durant, suspended Draymond for Kyrie and Love, Lebron wouldn't even be in the series. Curry, kyrie, love vs. Lebron with injured teammates wouldn't have even made it to game 7.

Not always the best metric. Nobody thought Steve Nash or Rose were even top 5 the years they won.

Based on the fact that lebron beat him, blocked him about a 100 times while berating him and clearly had more impact in that series. That was steph's worst finals performance ever

Not talking peak talking right now. And even at his peak he wasn't better. He wasn't even a better scorer when it mattered. Harden has one post season over 30 pts and lebron has 6. Harden has no post seasons of 32 pts or more and lebron has 3. Lebron has a shit ton of finals of over 30 pts or more and harden has 0. There's level to this homeboy

probably cause teams actually double team harden. lebron is a much better passer so teams dont double him

That's true but not everyone doubles harden especially come playoff time when defenders are actually allowed playing a little defense. He faces way less doubles in the post season

He wasn't top 5 in 2019 and he sure wasn't this year. Lebron is getting old and that's fine, we have to stop pretending like he's able to carry a team at this stage in his career, which he showed you he's not able to do in that Suns series with AD out. Guys like KD, Giannis, Embiid, Kawhi, Luka, Curry & even Paul George can go out there and play 40+ minutes and carry a 30-40+ pt scoring load when Lebron doesn't have it like that anymore. He can't even run back in transition, nor does he do much on the defensive side at this stage in his career.

There isn't a way to rank Bron objectively this year since the Solomon Hill injury basically ruined his season.

However, he is ONLY getting older.

If you count all injuries then you could argue Lebron was barely top ten this year and AD wasn't even top 20...but we know those two guys healthy are much better.

For me, you could easily rank KD, Kawhi, Curry, Jokic, Luka, Embiid as the top six players.

Personally, that's an impossible question to answer. If he's the guy we saw pre injury, he's a legitimate top 5 player. If he's the guy we saw in the play in and the playoffs, I wouldn't even rank him top 10. I still don't know if he looked like that strictly due to the injury, or if it's a combo of that and his old age making him more susceptible to injury. I don't think I'd be able to answer that question until I see what he looks like next season

well he was leading the mvp race before injuries.

the answer is yes.

how do you lead the mvp race as a non top-5 player?

how soon they forget. lakers were #1 or #2 in the conference before injuries.

if im picking guys to carry my team to title next year im going with

#1 Giannis
#2 Durant
#3 Embiid
#4 Jokic
#5 Kawhi
#6 AD
#7 Luka
#8 Mitchell
#9 CP3
#10 George

at some point you people need to realize that lebron isn't that guy anymore and harden never was.. davis was the reason the Lakers went to the finals last year and he allowed lebron to take over for the Miami series since they weren't really a threat. had davis been the #1 guy they sweep the heat.

oh yeah and kyrie is batshit crazy

CP3??? George??? Hell naw. I'll take Morant and probably several others over either for 2022.

Wrong.

LeBron was leading the MVP race before Solomon Hill fell on him.

He will lead the MVP race again the next season.

Well he was the leading mvp candidate BEFORE Davis got hurt, which was a little before the ankle sprain.

This is a half truth, when Lebron was taken out of the game LAST YEAR, the Lakers were kind of shit. A few people on here joked about how when Lebron is out of the game the Lakers were just like the Pelicans when Davis played for them.

Even Booker would have lead that Lakers squad - without AD - to some playoff wins.

Debatable he's even Top 10 at this point.

How many of those players are worse than Lebron?

Can you write those?

If you write 6-10 players, it means he is top 15 for you.

If you write 11-15 players, it means he is top 10 for you.

If you write 16-20 players, it means he is top 5 for you.
