Iverson's defense isn't a major liability in the current league. Your PG not taking a single shot in five 4th quarters of a seven game playoff series is.

Plus it's not like A.I was a lamppost defensively. There are limits to your defensive impact at a buck sixty and generously being listed at 6 feet.

Ai and embiid wouldnt of worked UNLESS embiid was committed to becoming dikembe….no knock on dikembe (he is a hall of famer) but what made AI special was that he would give u 40 or 50 points but he needed 30 shots to do it….in todays Nba AI would prolly be taking 40 plus shots a night……keep in mind the league is more skilled today than it ever was so u gotta factor in shots for your teammates……that leaves about 10 shots for embiid. Not enough for him to impact a game offensively.

Lol no he wouldn't. That Sixers team was as offensively challenged as any finals team I've ever seen. They basically gave Iverson offensive carte blanche and surrounded him with tough, gritty defenders at every position. Also that era is generally regarded as a tough defensive era so everyone's efficiency was lower than modern stars. All the early 2000's perimeter stars would have better % numbers today. Plus, you really think Larry Brown is going to have A.I out there chucking 25 shots a game if he's got a legit low post scorer in Embid on the block? Mutumbo couldn't' score 20 points if he was alone in a gym for 5 hours.

Iverson gets a bit of a bum rap IMHO. He was a better shooter and off-ball player than people realize. He wasn't a stationary target dribbling the ball for 20 seconds in front of the defense:

youre an idiot you dont know how well iverson would play with a big man like embiid. that would be a perfect fit for iverson, they were a better team with ratliff than dikembe. iverson would be perfect with embiid. iverson and a decent bigman are title contenders

and they would have a closer in iverson. Iverson was a very clutch player at the end of games. He's very underrated in that aspect. The only time i remember him choking was i think game 5 in that detroit series
