Rondo already proved he could play well with LeBron. They have great chemistry on the court together. The three headed play making monster of LeBron/Simmons/Rondo will keep the opposition guessing as to who is going to make the play

Their best shooter is Embiid. Not hard to beat - you just go into zone defense and close down the paint. Game over.

The main attraction is to get LeBron’s contract off the books and pick up good assets. They can flip Harris for future first round picks. Curry can be traded too. Basically build around AD who is the real reason for the Lakers success.

Nets if healthy. Bucks should take them out and the Celtics as well. The theoretical trio has no depth, James is old and makes Simmons redundant and Simmons was already ceding the paint to Embiid. His primary role would become covering up for James's defensive lapses (I am expecting him not to try most possessions on defense at age 37). They would be out in the first two rounds, and IMO most likely out in the first round.

They could do as good a job as anyone on paper but Old James may not want to put forth the effort on defenseand Simmons is such a poor offensive fit that playing him at the same time as James is going to be difficult and with James dominating the ball and Embiid owning the paint where does Simmons go? It wouldn't work, Simmons needs a team that will give him the paint in the half-court and making him a corner jumpshooter to make space for James would utterly fail.
