As part of these news rules, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, these kinds of plays could now be called offensive fouls or simply be no-calls:

When a shooter launches or leans into a defender at an abnormal angle.
When a shooter kicks his leg (up or to the side) at an abnormal angle.
When an offensive player abruptly veers off his path (sideways or backward) into a defender.

iverson got dress code and zone defense. durant still uses that rip through move which is the most bs ive ever seen. makes harden flopping look like mary poppins

Isn't it weird, they let Harden get away for this forever, but now suddenly they're stamping down.

So good though....Harden having a meltdown as we speak.

You're basically bragging that he plays like a bitch. Stopping short on drives to jump back into the defender has been around a while... Paul, Lowry, Dame and Kemba did it not stop. Trae just abused it so bad they had to outlaw it lmao and that's saying something because some of those dudes are serious floppers.

Where as i don't like watching the style of play either and will be more than ok if it is gone next year from every players arsenal. I also don't knock on Trae or any other player for doing it considering it's a legal play at this point. Every player in the league tries to do this to atleast some extent. Some are not good at it and some are elite at it and alot of players have said they asked guys like Harden, Embidd, Luka, and trae how to do it and get to the line more. To me it's not pretty but it's also the highest IQ people on the court almost at all times pulling it off. So it is a very smart play to do if it's helping you win and it's legal rather people like me or you like the looks of it or not.

If they give the no flopping rule to lebron then stans would be happy to have another achievement in his name

Trae's foul baiting moves have been pretty non existent in the playoffs, he has cut down on them. His freethrow rate has declined by 10% from reg season to playoffs. So as long as Trae just does that in reg season, it's not that big of a deal because reg season doesn't mean that much anyway.

It'd be the only award I'll ever recognize for LeThargic.

It's because more players are beginning to copy Harden's foul exploits after seeing him take advantage of it. If you don't stop it now then that's how everyone plays, just running around baiting for fouls. It would make the game unwatchable.

"at an abnormal angle"
More rules that aren't precisely defined. More refs making calls based on their feelings. Imagine if laws worked like this. "Driving your car abnormally will result in a fine".
I guess they want refs to have the freedom to call out flopping rather than create concrete rules that could be circumvented on a technicality. They're basically admitting the league's floppers are smarter than them.
