Porzingis averaged 20 and 9 on 37% from 3 this season.
People are overreacting, he is better than Simmons.

KP could be out of the league in 5 years and Simmons could still be trucking along. But until then I'd rather have KP than Simmons. At least with KP there's chances he stays healthy and regains form. With Simmons it's a dead end and the kind of player a contending team cannot build around. KP's playstyle makes him very easy to slot in with a greater or reduced role.

And we already know that having 2 guys in the lineup with a point guard hold time gives teammates less hold-time and assists than they get in 1 point guard lineups.. Lower teammate assists results in low TEAM assists and a low ball-movement brand that yields low team ceilings/Finals record.

But carry on thinking about it your way though, and get surprised by the results every time (never know beforehand what will happen) - Simmons and Luka would be an unmitigated disaster - 2 ball-dominators on the court at once is death for a team - if booker was ball-dominant, he wouldn't win shit with CP3

How about John Wall for Simmons? Wall can make standstill 3s and is a good foul shooter. Good distributor and good on the fast break.

Obviously health is an issue. He also needs to reduce the number of midrange jumpers which he loves but sucks at.

If there is one thing almost all champions got in common is that they failed the playoffs at a young age and grew from that. I think it's an interesting trade tbh.

The Mavs have plenty of shooting, what they need most is perimeter defense.

What Philly could use is a bit more size/shooting on the wing.

It's not a guarantee either guy ends up being the missing piece of the puzzle, but there'd be reasons for both sides to like the trade.

I totally agree. There is not enough spacing. You need to play Simmons with 4 shooters. If some team is able to do that, they will get their Ben-value without a doubt.

Simmons is not good enough offensively to justify playing him "with 4 shooters".
He is the worst type of player, guy that is talented enough to get max money but at things that aren't worth as much as a max level guy that's a scorer.
He falls into that Rudy category.

I consider him a much more mobile Draymond Green. Just think what he would be able to do on that Warriors team. The big difference is Simmons can score in the post. I believe they need to trade him. And whatever team gets him to need to surround him with shooters and of course a Bradley Beal kind of player.

Yes, they were much better, but remember, Dirk got destroyed at the age of 28. If that did not happen I doubt he ever wins a championship.
