There are so many players now that don't have catchy names. Trae Young, Luca Doncic, Chris Middleton, Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker.. Even Kevin Durant and James Harden aren't great names. Westbrook and Lebron have pretty good names. Giannis's name, hard to say or spell.

You used to have really catchy names in the league. Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell, Charles Barkley, Shawn Kemp, Mullin, Webber, Jordan, Shaq, Kobe, Nowitski, Rodman, Pippen, Stackhouse.. These names sounded like celebrities.

Seriously. The players names of today's players don't jump out at you! I guess Chris Paul and Paul George are somewhat households, but players like Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis Antetekumpo, and even Devin Booker don't have the same ring! They don't flow off the tip of the tongue. They aren't household names.

Even role players or borderline stars of the past had some pretty sick names. Baron Davis, Captain Jack, Tony Kukoc, Mark Price, John Starks, Jamal Mashburn, etc..
