Trae Young is an AI/Curry mix

I said this last year and he is REALLY showing it these playoffs. He's got AI's handles/quickness and also can shoot from deep like Curry..granted he has been a little inefficient overall scoring, his playmaking on offense from far away from the basket is amazing.

Curry's success is going to inspire a lot of people and scouts will be hunting for this too. Plus the talent pool with their physicals is enormous. True, but like poster above wrote, it's not just Curry, it's Nash, it's AI, it's Curry.

Like with Doncic, who is Lebron, Harden, Kobe.

They all build on each other, but some playing styles just become the norm. The floater, Nash, Parker, is clearly in a lot of games. Long 3s, Curry, Dame etc, we will see them in every point guard.

I dont see the iverson comparison. It is more of what you said. Still quite unique.

There is no Curry in Trae's game.

Curry makes his bread by being ridiculous at shooting. There is not a similarity. Trae will bomb when he gets tired and lazy but it's not the same. People would never guard Curry the way the guard Trae. They're letting Trae bomb from 28 if he wants to.

Curry cannot get into the lane and finish and pass like Trae. Especially in a PnR situation.

Surely not a curry/lillard type of shooter but he can make those shots. Curry has much superior off ball movement but trae works better with the ball in his hands. Reminds me of curry though when he goes for the drive. Can go for a floater or layup or just look around to pass for a btter ahot.

BINGO! He's not a 50-40-90 type of shooter like Curry. ANY COMPARISON to Curry has to be guys in that realm. Or is CLOSE to Steph's level of marksmanship. He attempts those long range bombs like Curry. His imagination passing the rock FOR SURE has some Nash type shit. He already said Nash was THE GUY he looked up too. And the AI part comes by being a totally unstoppable scorer at that size.

What makes Trae and Luka for that matter SPECIAL is the fact that among these 25+ PPG scoring PG's', those two are the best passers! With most of the great PG's putting up those kind of points OR having a score first mentality, that says a lot! That was one of the better trades in a long ass time. Down the road, Luka and Trae could very well be the top two PG's in the league. And guys who win an MVP down the road!

He's more Nash/AI mix, he's not the overall 3 point shooter Steph is (he does shoot better past 30 feet though so his range is higher than Steph's) and his first step and assertiveness allows him to not rely on a million screens to score which is more like AI but his passing is closer to Nash's

Size is really the only red flag with Trae, it's a big one though especially on defense but offensively he's got a lot of things going for him despite that
