Lebron did lead the Cavs to the finals and had a monster 48 point game against Detroit. Lebron's shooting wasn't that great, but he was putting up lots of rebounds, assists and steals along with 22-28 a game, depending on the round.

We're seeing what Trae can do now.

That Detroit team is a shell of the champion team that won in 2004

a 53 win team with no Ben Wallace placing 1st in East?

no wonder Bron dominated the LEASTern conference that time

You could still play defense in 2007, so obviously LeBron.

LeBron couldn't shoot in 2007. Heck he couldn't in general, but that was the year the Spurs literally dared him to shoot. LeBron ended up scoring 22 on like 35% FG. :oldlol: Trae would have cooked the league and every team LeBron faced in 2007. Defense was better, but most perimeter players KILLED in 2006 and 2007.

I'm guessing the Spurs would have defended Trae differently than Lebron. Although, you'd think the Bucks would be defensively able to slow him down. We'll see for the rest of the series.

No question, and that's my point. If you defended Trae that way, he would drop 40 every game. Trae's feel and skill at 22 is more advanced. The kid is fearless.

Trae would have actually had to deal with real defense and not what is essentially a pick up game as far as perimeter defense in this era is concerned.

Defense was better but you're romanticizing it. Carmelo and Arenas averaged the second and third most points. After Kobe. Trae wouldn't have a problem scoring.

No, when the Spurs dared him to shoot was 2013 and 2014. He was seen as the only offensive threat in 2007.

You have a shaky memory.

LeBron admits he had a bad jumper. And that San Antonio dared him to shoot, as early as 2007.

They played better defense in 2007. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ5AFLXzBFs That's some terrible defensive play against Trae Young.

Ofc 22 year old Lebron wasn’t as good of a shooter as 27 year old Lebron, but the Cavs were so outmatched that series Spurs didn’t resort to that yet. You have no reason not to play Lebron on that 2007 Cavs squad.

That detroit team went to ecf in 2008 and won nearly 60 games.

LeBron had a much worst team and made finals.

Lebron. Trae hasnt played against anybody in the playoffs yet that has made him work on defense. Which is good and bad for him because after this playoff run it’s going to get tough for him but of course pressure make diamonds and steel sharpens steel so in the end it should make him better but this playoff run is kind of similar to the heats run last year. Trae is playing out of his mind but no one has challenged or went at him on the defensive end. Dude cant be 6 feet at ALL….like jrue holiday should punishing him on defense or whoever he is guarding should just post him up force the double eventually and force their defense to rotate….could also help free giannis up for more rim runs.
