Maybe they went brunette to make it a little less "typical Karen" but no lie I was expecting what you said. A loud mouthed looney bin with blond streaks in her hair and a little less put together/more trashy.

She looked nothing like the character in the book. When the movie started I totally rejected her - ‘she’s not Annie!’.
About 10 minutes in I turned to my girl and said “oh she’s totally Annie.”
