- Chauvin will only be sentenced for the most serious charge of second-degree murder. (40 year maximum)

- For an offender with no previous criminal record, state guidelines recommend a 12.5-year sentence, or a range of 128 to 180 months

- Prosecutors have asked the judge to sentence Chauvin to 30 years.

- Chauvin’s attorney have asked that his client serve only probation.

Spending 22 years in jail for kneeling on the neck of some drug addict. Wouldn't want to be a cop if it was the last job on Earth. Not worth it at all if most of these cops have to patrol crime-ridden streets day in and day out.

It is what it is because of how high profile the case is. The sentence would have been much lighter if there wasn't BLM and series of protests all over the world.

It shouldn't be probation like Chauvin's lawyers ask for though.

You put your knee on someone's throat for 8 minutes, they are not living through that.. Nobody can hold their breath for that long. How many years do people get for murder?? Judge accordingly.

I don't give a sh!t what social media has to say - social media has lost all credibility in my eyes (to hell with what random twitter users have to say - you can't take most tweet seriously because most don't tweet under their real name or identity). In the end, the only thing that matters in a court room is justice. Lady justice is blindfolded and judges based on the merits of the case nothing else. What Chauvin did was murder. Floyd deserved to be arrested and charged with crime but not killed for it. End of story.
