I'll start. For whatever reason I believed Anthony Randolph would be a star for the Warriors. I saw a few highlights and his workouts and thought he would be a hall of famer. TBH I thought he would be like Chris Bosh and Lamar Odom but way better

not exactly a scrub, but I thought ben gordon would have become a much bigger player than he did.

Kyrie Irving
Chris Bosh
Kevin Love
Anthony Davis

These guys overachieved massively while playing with LePerfect, but without his guidance they proved to essentially be busts incapable of success.

Honorable Mention: D Wade. Had a nice prime but it was way too short, ended around 2010.

Wes Johnson. I wouldn't say I thought he would be a star but he should've been so much more. Absolutely prototypical size/talent. Had all the tools to be a dominant 2 way player. Not only explosive but smooth too. He just didn't have that hunger to max out his talents. Waste of talent.

Also love Nerlens Noel's talents. Absolute pogo stick and long AF. Can't imagine if you gave a guy like that an MJ/Kobe brain.

Odom really had the natural talent to be a top 5 player. He had it all. He obviously lacked that killer mentality though. Literally 7 ft tall, long AF, and ultra coordinated and smooth. Heck, just purely on paper, you can argue he was one of the more talented players EVER. He had the coordination of a 6'5" wing.

Also agree with Randolph. That guy was a special natural talent too.

He was never the same after his knee injury. He did make the All Star team the year before though.

Same. He might have been without the knee injuries. He can still score like crazy, but he kinda needs an entire offense built to feature him if he is going to be a positive contributor. He doesn't really play team basketball on offense, because he could always just slash by everyone.

I thought Thomas Robinson was going to be an all-star, but he's in the wrong era. No room for an old-school power forward who doesn't space the floor.

Yeah the injuries really did him in. I always thought he would be able to turn it around, but now he's already 26 and getting reduced playing time each year.

Finally a decent take on Jabari. I agree with the general assessment, but I don't see how if he didn't have the injuries it would have been different. He can still slash by everyone, so injuries are not the issue.

He'd probably be playing a lot better defense without the injuries, so he'd get more minutes to shine in.

He didn't live all the way up to his hype, but he was still closer to a star than a scrub.

Joel Embiid. Could not beat Trae and a bunch of scrubs with a top 5 defender Simmons and best Curry in the league with a HCA. Yikes. Sixers should just trade him for Cristiano Felicio, better Curry deserves to play with a better center.

Donald sterling literally had the future of the NBA all on one team and freaking ruined it. These dudes were so fun to play with in 2k/nba live/ inside drive back in the day. Opponents didnt know who to guard.

The 2014 draft was such a crapshoot

I thought for sure he was a running mate with Giannis and Middleton .... two injuries and a comment " I don't need to play defense"
pretty much some's up what he is all about = a paycheck, and no love for the game.

Several people have mentioned Noel already, but I'll throw another vote to him. I thought he would be a dominant defensive big, but he was never the same player after his injury in college.
