He is of Nigerian descent (his dad), but he was born in the U.S. and has lived here his whole life.

Hmm what would the ideal 5 be like? Durant is in it. Dame and Tatum would be in there. Maybe Middleton and Draymond? Imo Middleton is better than Booker, Beal and Lavine. Would fit in Fiba rules nicely too. Also Bam might start instead of Draymond. I'm not sure who is better right now.

They learned nothing from losing in the World.

No pass first, floor general, point guard.

A bunch of athletic wings, who will find it difficult to get open with international rules.

There's going to be a lot of standing around watching one guy go 1 on 1.

Durant will probably carry them through, but this won't be a dream team.

a lot better roster than the worlds

This is an easy win for the US. Surprisingly I think most important on this team are Adebayo, Grant, and Middleton. They will do the dirty hustle work that usually is the downfall for team USA. Also as others have mentioned, the way Durant is playing right now, he might outscore entire teams on his own. Bad move for him IMO though coming off that injured achilles...wouldn't be surprised if he had more lower body injuries come playoff time next year. Too much basketball not enough rest

It's better, but it's still poorly constructed for international play.

The centers are also too small.

I'll look forward to seeing how Durant does against more physical defense. He'll hit a lot of 3s I think.

With KD they should not lose. Starting 5 predictions?

Lillard as point guard
Tatum at shooting guard
Kevin Durant small forward
Draymond Green at the 4
Bam at the 5

That's pretty stacked.

Can Bam defend someone like Gobert?

We should keep in mind that there's no defensive 3 seconds in FIBA, so Gobert and other big centers will camp in the paint. There will be no easy layups.

Marcos Delía (who played in Mexico at the time) matched up just fine with Rudy last world cup.

Descendants and ethnic background need not apply.

He’s American. Your nationality is either your birth country of origin, or the country you primarily grew up in.

Also why it is odd that some player profiles say that Kyrie Irving is Australian. He was born to American parents briefly in Australia, but was raised in Newark.

Also ****ing retarded why stupid ass Joakim Noah played I think for like France or something like that. Because he never wouldÂ’ve got picked for the red, white and blue.

Shame we don’t have Trae Young or Donovan Mitchell on that team as well.

at least his dad was French. Most teams have guys that have no connection to that country

But what does that matter?

His mom was from Sweden. :oldlol:

It would be one thing if both of them were firmly French nationalists. And maybe they gave birth to him here in America but then quickly move back to friends where they lived and he grew up there. But it was nothing like that. He just picked a country’s team that he could easily make, based off a vague connection.

Team USA would’ve never picked his garbage ass, that’s why he went to play with some dirty foreigners.

They can only select those who are willing to play. It's not like that list is first choice over others.

Bam can guard literally everyone and I’m not sure why you think Rudy is someone anyone has trouble guarding. Defense is where he makes his money. A better question would be “can Bam score on Rudy” and the answer to that depends on if his jumper is working. Rudy shuts him down inside.
