That would be crazy. His first ever playoffs and he puts up 30/10 while leading a bunch of role players to the finals and winning finals MVP.

they are gonna do a 30 for 30 on that trade one day "greatest heist in sports history" move over Herschel Walker

He would certainly have a case for best guard ever. But I'd still have Magic ahead

would be more of a fluke than magics 1980 debut finals mvp due to injuries

You're comparing Clint Capella to 1980 Kareem?

Also the 76ers were healthy. It was bucks who took advantage of Trae's injury in game 3 or the series would be 3-1 hawks right now.

and the hawks got Cam Reddish from that trade as well, who looks like a promising future two way player.

Hawks also hired a great veteran coach in Nate Mcmillian, while mavs hired a coach with a terrible history like Jason Kidd.

Damn, talk about two franchises going in different directions.

For his lengthy playoff runs that went beyond 9 games, Magic Johnson peaked at just 23% usage. While Trae is at 36% usage these playoffs. Just different tiers of responsibility in terms of scoring and shot creation for themselves.

Also Magic had at least 2 better scorers on his team (Kareem, Worthy) or sometimes even 3 better scorers on his team (Kareem, Wilkes, Nixon).

Just different tiers in terms of carry jobs, magic never carried shit. Also Trae isn't a closeted homo, so that's some bonus points as well.

True but it's not fair for trae if you compare their stats when trae has to go through multiple rounds and multiple teams. While all luka has is 1st round exits

if every other star magic faced throughout the 1980 plays was injured i'm pretty sure he could drag capella to a ring too

and the hawks look just as good without trae tbh

Well you caught aids magic, so I guess you're injured for life.

You're joking right? Kareem was putting up like 32/15 in 1980 and was like peak shaq.

Trae has Clint freakin Capella

Night and day when looking at supporting casts

1980 Kareem is who Magic had to fill in for. Trae Young ain't doing anything close to that.

Hell no magic won early and had one of the greatest finals performances ever.

If he gets a finals mvp award then that would only mean that he got the said award first over stephen curry despite being 10 years younger.
