Now that all these injured superstars are out, we get to watch to team basketball from cities that really care about them. Fat ISH posters who don’t watch games are on their keyboards arguing about eliminated players like lebron, kawhi, luka…meanwhile the people of Milwaukee, Phoenix and Atlanta are out on the streets honoring their basketball team and reviving basketball on a real level. As a laker fan who done his fair share of purple and gold looting, I am excited for whatever the three teams left have got to give. Team and city fans are the future.

Today’s game was unwatchable and the finals will probably be boring af..
I pray Trae comes back and wins the next 2. I think we’ll get a good finals then.

I'm actually curious to how many people actually watched tonight's game. Has to be record low viewership.

I was thinking about this earlier. The finals ratings without a marquee name to draw in casuals( CP3 is elite, but I'm talking about a ratings draw), is going to be brutal. A healthy Nets/Clippers finals would have drawn numbers. I don't see much interest nationally in who's left, it's even worse if Giannis or Trae( who I wouldn't classify as ratings draws) are out of the finals with injury. Maybe there's the curiosity of seeing if Cp3 will win his first chip, but I don't see that moving the needle to the degree the NBA would want.

One inch or so of durants foot separated what could have been a great finals series

Is it really, though? The Bucks-Hawks series is a little compelling because both teams have significant injuries, so they're essentially on a level playing field, but the Finals in all likelihood is going to be a dull affair, unless Giannis/Trae can get to 100% in a short amount of time.

there was a total of 20 posts in tonight's game thread, a eastern conference finals game. a little less than we usually get from exhibition and summer league premiers

While i agree ball is better without the ball dominant systems you still need stars. I'd rather watch stars dominating the ball than role players moving the ball. Ideally you want stars playing within a team concept but that seems to be a thing of the past. Only a hand full of teams play that way

I think the team who's going to win the nba championship this year won't repeat as nba champions.

Agree with OP. Games have been fun and crowds have been epic.
Five of the week's eight prime-time programs to average more than five million viewers were NBA conference finals games, topped by TNT's coverage of the Milwaukee Bucks' 113-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, which averaged 5.595 million viewers Sunday – third for the week and first among cable programs.

For sure.
All you americanos need to look at the current Euro football championships to see what real sports excitement looks like.
The only time I seen anything like that is when Raps won.
Americanos are more interested in doing silly dances on the big screen (though it looks like fun).

Injuries are apparantly a thing now in modern basketball, so teams that can function as a team are going to win over teams that are dependent on one player.
