American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson has tested positive for cannabis, sources told Reuters on Thursday, and she is unlikely to get the chance to challenge for the Olympic 100-meter title in Tokyo later this month.

One source familiar with the matter told Reuters the positive test came at the U.S. Olympic trials last month where Richardson established herself as a gold medal contender by winning the 100 meters in 10.86 seconds.

A positive test during the trials would mean all of Richardson's results from the meet would be wiped out, voiding her victory in the 100-meter final.

Pretty sure rules were known already. She made a decision to do it regardless and didn’t think she would get caught. Who knows when she got tested. Probably was tested. She smoked then had to take another test. Or smoked tried to clean system. Got tested and enough was still in her system. Bad decision but not one everyone should be all up in arms over.

So this discussion didn’t exist when Michael Phelps who was suspended over a photo and not a test? Think again. And in fact I brought it up here to speak on how society views marijuana as this bad bad don’t do that drug. I also brought up the fact it has LESS to do with performance enhancing and MORE to do with image. And the perception some folks have of the drug being used. That’s further supported by the list of 3 criterias these kind of drugs fall under as their “reasoning” for it being banned.
