This is not the first thread since March from clueless people like OP.

Have you heard of a thing called inflation? That is making the prices of commodities go up. It's happening in Europe and Asia, not just America. A lot of it has to do with the fact that we are coming out of global shutdowns and essentially a yearlong recession when demand was down completely.

There was a period in like September or October when oil barrel prices were in the negative. Warehouses were getting paid to take supply of excess oil. Oil rigs were shutdown & OPEC closed off oil production because there was no space for the oil. Ships were waiting weeks in line, waiting for oil delivery. This time we are going the exact opposite - everything is opening up and travel has picked up steam. Oil demand is up all at once, and supply is getting pushed to limits. It wasn't just that but other factors like the Texas freeze in February, the Suez canal shipping lane closed for a week with the ship stuck in March, the hacking of the big oil refinery last month. Oil barrel prices have slowly returned to the pre-covid numbers. Watch OPEC increase oil production soon in response. Oil prices will stabilize to pre-covid numbers by the end of the year (around $2.60 per gallon was the US average before March 2020).
