X-man moved in for the kill in Game 7, but Jordan made sure it didn't happen like it had in 1990.. Pippen slanked away beta-style while Jordan took over and got in X-man's face.. Jordan later said in "The Last Dance" that it was necessary to have Pippen's back.

That series unexpectedly went 7 because of Pippen's poor play - everyone else played great.. Anytime a series was close or lost, it was Pippen's poor play that caused it, because he was routinely playing more like a defensive role player than a 2nd option star

Wouldn't be surprised. We don't agree on much but on this one we probably do somewhat. Don't know why mj stans feel the need to devalue pip the way they do. Mj was the best player I've ever seen but he didn't do it on his own. He had an atg sidekick and and atg coach.

otoh, Pippen has zero instances where he played anywhere NEAR top 50 level - he's only ranked top 50 due to rings..

He gets credit for rings like he's a 1st option - so imagine if Klay were ranked over Harden due to rings - that would be unfair, but that's the treatment Pippen gets..
