LeBron literally quit on defense in the playoffs. So no, LeBron is not an "underrated" defender. He simply isn't committed.

LeBron was explosive that last game, outrunning Phoenix for layups. He gave up on defense. Period.

We saw what Lebron was as a defender. Kawhi, Durant, Iggy all won finals mvp over him and outplayed him.

Lebron did some things as a help defender, but he didn't improve AT ALL, which is why Jimmy Butler went off on him in the Finals and they didn't slow him down until Vogel put AD on him.
