Nobody cares?
It's like asking Robert Horry vs Ray Allen. Why waste my time on basic equations.

Iverson if I needed a 1 man band surrounded by role players
DJ if I already had an established star.

Are you sure? I think dennis is better on every level. He has more total playoff points, more all-defense longevity awards (9 in a row!), and more finals appearances.
Almost nobody here watched DJ. You'd have to be almost 60. Iverson was very fun to watch.

you're on that dope iverson is infinitely better than dennis johnson. Iverson is a top 10 player of all time and ive proven it many times

Yet dennis johnson has many more total playoff points, 9 straight all-D longevity awards, and more finals appearances.

I havent made any. But having more total playoff points, more all-def longevity awards and more finals appearances should be enough to make you a better player

Iverson. Better per game numbers. More scoring titles and years as the man. Using "totals" makes you a caged animal.
LeBron > Jordan.
LeBron has more losses in the NBA finals - true. That isn't relevant to the topic though. Go ahead and answer the OP's question. Now is not the time to be shy.
Using "totals" makes you a caged animal. Oh shit:eek:
How about, how about... DJs higher rpg in regseason and playoffs, thats gotta be what makes a perimeter player great right?

You're just being silly. It's so random. Here's a better one. Fat Lever or Nate McMillan?

DJ's .4 advantage in rebounds must've been high impact! Sorta like LeBron's rebound "edge" over Jordan. You know, where Jordan averages more offensive boards? :oldlol:

Interesting question. Fat Lever had more total playoff points and more longevity awards. However Nate had more finals appearances (one more than 0). I would lean Fat Lever

Dennis Johnson has 2 all-nba teams.
AI has 7 all-nba teams.
So AI is the better player.
Let's do the math.
LeBron 17 all-nba teams.
Jordan 11 all-nba teams.

Why all-nba specifically? Its all about the longevity awards, like all-nba AND all-d

Because 1st team all-nba = best 5 players in a given season undisputed.
2nd team all-nba = best 10 player in the season.
Allen Iverson had 7.
DJ had 2.
Allen Iverson > DJ.
LeBron:
13× All-NBA First Team (2006, 2008–2018, 2020)
3× All-NBA Second Team (2005, 2007, 2021)
All-NBA Third Team (2019)
Jordan:
10× All-NBA First Team (1987–1993, 1996–1998)
All-NBA Second Team (1985)
LeBron also has more MVP 1st / 2nd place votes than Jordan.
Looks like LeBron dominated for longer than Jordan did at the highest level.

You just cherrypicked though. Thats not an answer. Thats just you being retarded as usual
Dennis johnson is for sure better bc of his playoff scoring superiority, he has like 1000 more playoff points
Because 1st team all-nba = best 5 players in a given season undisputed.
2nd team all-nba = best 10 player in the season.
Allen Iverson had 7.
DJ had 2.
Allen Iverson > DJ.
But having lots of allnba just proves you had great longevity. So clearly all-d is also valid to be used since having lots of them also shows you have great longevity (on defense)

All-defensive is good but not equal to all-nba.
You would take any 3rd team all-nba player over a player that only makes all-defensive.
For example, Patrick Beverly has made 1st team all-defensive but isn't even a top 50 player.
It is insanely hard to make 1st team all-nba.

Having all nba is better than having all-d for sure. But having a lot of them only proves one thing: that you had great longevity.
You know what does prove superiority as a player though? Total playoff points, the ultimate measure of a great player. Dennis johnson has a 1k point lead there:rockon:

AI regular season points: 24000

So looks like AI is still ahead by 8000 career points.

Change your outlook then, because that's a boring answer. All-Teams are nice don't get me wrong. The only time Jordan made the 2nd team was his rookie year; LeBron made several 2nd teams. But what specifically made AI better?

Jordan's rookie year was after he spent 3 years in college and wasn't good enough to get drafted in the nba so he waited.
So while LeBron was getting 2nd team all-nba his 2nd year, Jordan was equivalently still is in a college dorm room.

Jordan helped his school win a title though. At that age, its speculation whether he was good enough to be drafted. What we do know, is that when both players were NBA ready, Jordan had the bigger impact. He made the playoffs and was "1-9" or whatever, but in his first 2 years, LeBron's Cavs didn't even qualify. They were O-FER.
Back to the topic though. What specifically made AI better?

Definition of Great: of an extent, amount, or intensity considerably above the normal or average.
Longevity plays right into the definition.
So unless you want to argue something else, I will continue to bring longevity into the GOAT debate.

Dennis Johnson was a much better defensive guard than Iverson was. He was among the best at staying in front of his opponents' shooting hand, had great footwork and effort on defense. Dude was a boss at the 78 Finals I think it was, and again came up big on defense in the 86 Celtics championship run. It's self-evident that his defense helped his teams win championships.

What matters most to me for GOAT debates includes all of below:
All-nba teams
All-defensive teams
MVPs 1st and 2nd place votes.
Finals MVP
All time points
All time assists / rebounds
And of course, longevity.

So while Lebron was missing the playoffs his first two years in the league Jordan was winning a National Championship. Lebron couldn't get accepted to Akron Community College.

Patrick Ewing in the championship game. North Carolina beat Akeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler in the prior Final Four game before Georgetown.
The fact remains Lebron couldn't get the Cavs to the playoffs his first two years in. You're the one that spouts longevity. That's part of his resume.

Alien Iverson
Not close. If Dennis Johnson hadn’t been sent to the Celtics to play with Bird, McHale, Parrish, etc no one would even know he existed. Never led the league in any statistical category, or even came close, didn’t really average that many assists for a “true PG” and was a dreadful outside shooter who shot 17% from 3 for his career.
Not impressed.
