VORP is a cumulative stat, so that makes sense. Kareem should've been higher. He left a lot of numbers on the table by playing with Magic. Understandably though. The Lakers were a dynasty. Does LeBron know what that is? :oldlol:

Don't be remedial. Cumulative numbers are totals. Per game AKA rate-stats are the best measure of performance. Unless you think guys like Dolph Schayes, Bob Cousy and Karl Malone > Hakeem, Bird and Magic. :confusedshrug:

Very impressive. It speaks to LeBron's longevity, durability, endurance, and all-around game. Hard to imagine that anyone could ever break that record.

Just so we're clear. PPG and total points are the "same" thing? Yeah..... Time for you to logoff, and enroll into school.

Tim Duncan playoff vorp at the end of 29 years old season: 11.5

Kawhi leonard playoff vorp at the end of 29 year old season: 12.2

Shaquile O'Neal playoff vorp at the end of 29 year old season: 11.1

So kawhi is doing work, he just wasn't a ballhog as soon as he came into the league like LeBron

VORP is an accumulative stat based on games and minutes - Lebron simply played more games but the best VORP seasons are all MJ:

From 87-98 Jordan never played less than 78 games. Played 82 seven times, 81 once, and 80 once. Averaged ~40 minutes a game through all that.

Lebron has only played 82 once. And has a lot of 74-77 seasons in their. Plus the 62 for the lockout year (7.6 VORP still). Averaged around 38 minutes a game too.

The cumulative shit is an Jordan’s side. And on that of many others

How is it on Jordan's side :kobe: . MJ sat out 147 games of his prime (94, 95) and had the broken foot his 2nd year that cost him basically the entire year.

It’s merit is being a season by season statistic..

No one is going to make an actual career VORP argument.

Bron is a longevity monster.

With nutrition and training advancements, I'm thinking he'll play past 40.

Isn't that what the original poster did? :lol

Yeah, I wish we had a VORP/48 stat or something, but I think MJ still blows Lebron out of the water, as he does with every other stat. MJ led the league in VORP 9x as did Lebron and that's with him losing 3 seasons from 84-98.

That's part of Jordan's value above replacement - more minutes - more games - just MORE

But career-wise, the accumulation favors Lebron, which is why he has more VORP career-wise - it's a direct correlation with seasons played - but within those individual seasons, Jordan is far superior and gives you MORE.

Yall have to stick to one story. Is Kobe better than Magic, Bird, Shaq, and Hakeem? Because elsewhere you say he isnt. Are Karl Malone and Stockton top 5 GOATs? Why didn't they win a single championship together then?

Now do the advanced stats that matter, like PER, WS/48, and BPM.

HoopsNY

This is so dumb. VORP cannot be viewed in isolation of a greater context. LeBron's VORP is massively impressive, but it doesn't spell the entire story. Just appreciate it for what it is and stop trying to weaponize it against MJ's legacy. Because quite frankly, it won't work.

Lebron being outscored by Jason Terry in the Finals seems like a typo too
