In a recent interview, Shaq said Bryant Reeves AKA "Big Country" gave him fits. Looking at the numbers, though, Shaq got his and mostly dominated their H2Hs. Here are a few gamelogs from Reeve

Pretty good. More than numbers, I think Shaq was referring to the physical aspect. Big Country was a TANK. What are other examples of lower-level players giving superstars a problem? Not just in 1 game either. But for playing well in their career matchups.

Blocking a player in 1 game isn't giving him a problem...its getting lucky.
Raping someone in a finals series...thats another story

Delly keeping Curry from winning FMVP.
Got a shoe deal out of it.

He said gave problems, not injured.

He probably meant Reeves gave him trouble on defense.

Out of all the guys that went H2H with Shaq, I believe -- based on my memory -- Eddy Curry did the best statistically.

While Rolando Blackmon was a multi time all star, he was definitely a tier below Drexler. But Drexler said that Blackmon was the toughest player he had to guard, or at least gave him the most problems.

Shaq said the same thing Smits as a player that was hard to guard. Rik also matched up pretty well with Ewing as evidenced by their down to the wire playoff matchups.

Nah Shaq talked about stopping him. Or that he simply couldn't.
Like I couldn’t stop Big Country (Bryant Reeves) for some reason. I couldn’t stop him at all. I don’t know what it was, he used to eat my a** up every game…The first person to dunk on me was Derrick Coleman, second person, Tim Perry got me baseline, and then Michael Jordan.”

His best was before I started watching. As a defender though I remember Blackman being great. There's a number of videos up on Youtube showing his defense on Jordan. Good call on your part.

Yeah Smits was another bigass dude. Not surprised by that at all. Smits could also take Shaq out the paint and knock down jumpers.
