View Full Version : Does KD feel like an idiot? 2021 Warriors + KD = Championship again

This could have been his 3rd (2021) and possibly 4th (2022) FMVP, alas now he will likely settle for 2 or 3 max. What an idiot.

I read somewhere that KD was leaving GSW even if they had gone 16-0 in the 2019 playoffs. He's a weirdo who takes his image and people's perception of him too seriously.

Kerr commented that KD would be glued to twitter/insta non-stop before and after games reading about what fans/critics were saying about him and it was always "front-runner" or he joined a 73 win team. Honestly, I always felt KD was miserable in Golden State from day 1 because deep down he knew he took the easy way out and he's obsessed with his legacy and attacking those who criticise him (the quiresultan troll account).

KD cares way too much about what people think. Other greats possibly do, but they know how to channel it much better and in the right places. I know one of the biggest issues he had was that the Warriors fans always considered Steph the guy regardless of what he did. My question would be, what the **** did you expect? He took them from the bottom, to the top, won a ring and MVPs. I have no idea why the guy thought he would go to the Bay and be the unquestionable #1, unless he saw the Wade-Bron Miami link and assumed the same would happen.

If he didn't care about others' opinion that much, he would have 100% signed a 4-5 year deal there instead of these 1 + 1 which I know pissed off the entire team because it never showed full commitment to the team. However, he also took a paycut to make sure the team didn't sell Iggy or Shaun, which not everyone would do. KD's a weird dude, not sure what else to say.

Didn't the Warrior's staff do KD dirty by having him go out to play in the 2019 finals? I remember reading something about that.

It might be a scumbag move, but maybe they already knew he was leaving and said F his future. Clear him to play and let's try to get 1 last ring in.

KD's own medical doctor cleared him as well. I still think Warriors should have not bothered, but he was cleared by both Warriors' doctors and KD's personal one.

Steph was going to be the man, KD's always going to be the mercenary.

I'll agree with half of this. Like you say what did KD expect? He should have gone in fully expecting it to be a partnership with Steph. And in practice it was. It seems KD allowed it to get into his head though it should have been his team. That was never going to fly and he's an idiot if he thought it would.

I think Dubs fans are a little too stuck up on him not staying. Common sense indicated he was always going to leave whether he wanted to or not and it is better he did so I don't begrudge him that. His mistake is not being more gracious about it.

I don't get why he seems bitter about it with all the backhand rumors emanating from him. He legitimately accomplished great things with Golden State but he's poisoning that by allowing himself to be influenced by all the trash from those who resented him for joining the Warriors.

Were KD and Steph close off the court? Russ and KD used to hang out all the time. We saw russ alot in the 2014 KD documentary (forgot the name) where they were chilling or working out.

Lebron's super-teams were so formidable from 2011-2016, that KD had to team up with Curry/Klay to supercede him

None of their rings count..

He had to team up with Curry and Klay to get past Curry and Klay. Remember?

Lebron locked the league down with his super-teams from 2011-2016 - even though he didn't win every year like he was favored in every preseason, his super-teams still held the league hostage as the only team with 3 perennial all-stars - so the KD Warrior collusion showed how much talent was needed to supercede Lebron's cheating.. What Lebron did was low-character and uncalled for - he stacked the deck, so his peers were forced to respond in kind

Facts

Lebron is a weak man for stacking the deck.. he's an even weaker man for getting the media to pretend he didn't, and then getting them to say that only KD stacked the deck. It's low character shit from a low character guy

They were good friends and got along really well but didn't hang out a ton because Curry has a family. KD hung out with Dray (and Cook lol).

I think you are right , he should of stayed because he would of taken over the team as the media and fan leader of the franchise.
Curry's presence was very domineering at the time. o KD left to have his own team... in a sense.

Then KD mentioned that his argument with Dray was a major factor in his decision to leave GS. Man, he's never hesitated throwing his friends under the bus. :lol

Absolute serpent.

Durant doesn't care about titles anymore. why do you think he shot back to back season saving fade away threes instead of trying to get a quality look. it's more about comfort and having fun for him and kyrie cause they're spiting the lebron apologist media for always picking them as the villains in their wwe storyline where nothing they do matters

This is true.

Durant doesn't care about appeasing the media anymore because the media has labeled him a loser, which can't be fixed - he won 2 FMVP and this didn't fix it..

Otoh, Lebron had a goat choke before his super-teams won, yet his collusions still made him a winner, while Durant's don't (despite never having a massive choke like Lebron)

Great points, I agree with your assessment. Sometimes it takes a little bit of work/time to win a fanbase over and KD wasn't patient enough. In only 1 year he expected the Golden State fans to flip a switch, shifting their fandom from Curry to KD. Not gonna happen with Curry's historic 2015 and 2016 runs.

KD wasn't getting any credit for his rings as a Warrior because the media applied a double standard to his collusions compared to Lebron's (which were deemed ok)

But Lebron locked the league down with his super-teams from 2011-2016 - he stacked the deck so well that KD needed to team-up with Curry/Klay to supercede his collusions... yet he got no credit when he won, so he left... The media simply lies
