Sounds like excuses tbh. Nothing wrong with this squad. They're put together good enough to the point to where they have no buisness losing. This is the result of playing in a joke of a league defensively for the last 5 or 6 years. Without the nba rules to help these guys can't even manage to put up 90 points. I know it's 8 min less a game than the nba but even if you adjust for the 8 less minutes they're still only scoring 95 points or so.

But they're not the peak version of themselves, and even still? It's a mediocre cast with some incredibly overrated NBA players that are the lead guys on mediocre or bad teams that put up inflated stats and fool everyone into thinking they're $30+ million a year players.

Sure defensively they aren't amazing but that dosn't explain why they're only putting up 85 pts a game compared to 115 a game the last few Olympics. It's pretty simple though. The nba has become way to easy to score. Most teams don't even run advanced offensive sets anymore. They just put the ball in their best players hands and run a thousand pic and roles because in the nba where u can't hand check, fight through screens or contest the pic and roll can't be defended well. Iso play is also way harder to score because of this also against real defenses. With defenders allowed to handcheck and contest it makes it harder to get good looks. All the flopping and foul baiting b.s dosn't work either. The 5 guys mentioned above shoot about 7 or 8 foul shots a game in the nba and in international play they're getting less than half of that.

Their defense is fine. Nigeria and Australia scored around 90 points. It's usa offense that's struggling
