Republican business leaders are pushing up prices to create press for the conservatives.
Brilliant.

I slant conservative especially fiscally. And this is actually it ^ don't be morons conservatives. These numbers are way higher right now than they should.
Yes things will get inflated with a Democratic office. I hate that shit believe me I worked very hard to separate myself from the minimums and mediocrity out there and for them to - on paper - catch up a little - by printing and giving currency irritates me to no end. It does indeed just cause things to cost more, you don't invent value by deciding how much currency to print you do it by working hard and creating products or services that mean something to someone else.
BUT the conservative party can get quite petty and do overcompensating shit like this just to poison the well. Not a good look, they should be better than that. Yes there's definitely real world inflation going to happen anytime the political party changes from right to left. But it's in reality a smaller upswing than numbers like that. Those numbers are from butthurt conservatives trying to prove a point.

Yeah I'm sure all businesses care more about proving Republicans right than they do about making money.

They're raising prices because they care about making money. They sense the inflation climate coming and they use it as the reason prices are now so high. Well - it's semi true. The prices should've become higher yes. But they inched it higher than it should have been because yes - they ARE strictly about making money. And will leverage their prices alongside the politics to get it. The public knows inflation is coming so they know they can set the prices higher than usual - including higher than fair. I've seen business minds think too many times to know they will over compensate here just to ensure they get theirs in the end.
If base pays and and whatnot increase say, 10%. Should a lot of consumer products go up 45%? Hell no. Should have more closely followed the curve.

So what's to stop the enlightened Democrat business owner from keeping his prices low and undercutting the competition?

Democratic business owners? What's that? The overwhelming majority of major players that control industry are conservative exactly because of conservative fiscal values (open the flood gates by deregulating everything - plus best tax breaks for the rich). If you are a Democratic business person you aren't fit to swim with the sharks they'll buy your lower profit company up as soon as they sense blood in the water.
Now, I don't know what the answer to all these kinds of messes are. But I do tend to have mixed feelings. I want a wide open economy for ME to succeed fiscally. But at the same time, I do see frequent exploitation because when you leave it up to people to do what is right or wrong without any regulations, well... most top tier business owners or positions attract sociopaths and narcissists and they tend to take advantage of their position and not necessarily do what is right so then that leads right back to the regulations which sometimes need to happen. But too much of that scares business away or the still try to play or rig the system like controlling markets.
I vote republican 9 times out of 10 for fiscal reasons. (Didn't care for Trump though, blatant sociopath IMO). But sometimes I'm glad there are checks and balances via the two parties. Wish I knew how to make the system profitable with room for exponential growth and fair at the same time but I don't.

Democrats always have to fix Republican ****-ups when it comes to the economy.
The economy is always more stable/stronger when a Democrat is in charge.
Most Republicans have no concept of fiscal responsibility.

Is inflation the real problem here or is it how it was created?
We spent trillions in Marxist fashion while shrinking the middle class and increasing the number of people dependent on gov't. Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of formerly self-sufficient people are now reliant on either large, soulless corporations or the gov't. Same thing as Bolshevik Russia; the main obstacle to the communists seizing total control over society was the Kulaks (small property owners).
But instead of complaining about the real problems - gov't destroying the middle class, enriching regime allies, and bailing out corporations that hate them - the Republicans/conservatives complain about "inflation" because... Blue Man Bad. :facepalm

The middle class has already been destroyed, that's over and done with. People reconcile with that fact using logic like "Oh but look, even poor people now live like kings compared to the 1800s due to technology".

OPEC just agreed to open up the tap so expect average oil prices to drop. Basic supply and demand. As supply goes up to meet the demand, the price comes down.
Average oil price is about $3.17/gallon in USA. A year ago, it was $2.18/gallon after the shutdowns were on full load across the world for several months. I believe anything around or under $2.50/gallon is golden.
Is inflation the real problem here or is it how it was created?
