All of LeBron's 40+ point games came after his 27th finals game when the league was starting to become really soft, plus most of them were statadding or really inefficient in 2015's case (against a very small Warriors lineup, that wasn't the 08-10 Celtics or 04-05 Pistons he faced :lol)

I respect West and Baylor as top 15-20 players ever but the 60s was super fast paced, Barry as well who I believe had all of his at the NBA level in 1967. They probably all had like 130 possessions to accumulate their numbers. It was tougher on a per possession basis back then but that's still A LOT of possessions

Shaq got doubled and tripled and also got some easy looks set up by Kobe, he also faced old ass Smits and Todd MacCulloch guarding him :lol way more impressed with the one he got vs Mutombo in 01 even if it was in a loss

Jordan definitely has the most impressive even if his toughest opponents on defense were usually faced in earlier rounds

Taking 50 shots and maintaining over 40%FG/54%TS is not inefficient, not for that year. The league average was 54.1%TS & Kobe ended up with 54.3%. He scored more points (and on better efficiency) his Final game than Duncan in his final Playoff run.

I have read his book and it is a fantastic book it is heartbreaking to read about his battles with depression and the abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of his father plus the death of his older brother David in the Korean War.


But on another note if Wilt is considered as a loser then so is West as remember who was the Finals MVP in West's only ring here is a hint it was Wilt.

West was a fantastic player that unfortunately might have cost himself and the Lakers titles in 69 70 71 and 73 due to his liability to stay healthy.


In 1969 - West played with a hamstring and calf injury which limited his ability to defend how he normally does and they lost game seven of the finals vs the Celtics by two points.


In 1970 West played with jammed thumbs which made him a turnover machine in that game seven of the finals vs New York and it allowed Walt to completely outplay him.


In 1971 West missed the entire postseason due to injury along with many other Laker players and despite that Wilt managed to take a game of the dominant Bucks in the WCF


1973 West was playing with another hamstring injury in the finals which limited his effectiveness in that finals and despite that, they lost an incredibly lot of close Finals games in that 5 game series lost to New york.
