Team Past:

MJ
Magic
Bird
Duncan
Olajuwon

vs

Team Present
Curry
Lebron
KD
AD
Jokic

who you got?

I say Team Past takes this and it isn't even close.

Team past wins with 90s reffing, team present with the opposite.

Pretty close imo. Think it'd come down to the final shot. Team "Present" would have the last possession (after Jordan sinks the go-ahead bucket with 4 seconds left). They inbound it to LeBron who passes up an open shot, right to Curry who can't get it off in time. Team Past wins.

The past has 1 shooter. Bird.

The present has 5 players that can shoot 3s. This isn't even close.

The present would just run a spread 5 offense and pull Hakeem and Duncan out of the paint with Curry and Bron running pick and rolls to death. You literally can't defend the present with those 5 past players.

While the past would run cloggy paint offense for 2s.

The present blows the past out every single game. No chance. You can't run ancient NBA with no shooters vs modern NBA. Every single NBA coach in 2021 understands this now. Every front office understands this.

Fans nostalgic about the past don't.

stupid question

Defense is severely lacking on team present. The only good defender is Davis. Team Past wins pretty handily.

Your Team Past is gonna run on Team Present all day. Davis is a good defender, but Team Present is gonna have trouble getting back, especially with passers as brilliant as Bird and Magic leading a high-octane offense and feeding Jordan when they please, it would be a pleasure to watch Team Past run the break. Team Past wins handily.

This lack of spacing talk is nonsense when talking about the smartest and greatest players in nba history. Magic, Bird and Jordan would have adjusted and made it work on offense and played to the strengths of the team.
