This is what I detest about political views.
I have voted left and right. No way could I have voted left in the U.S. in 2020.
People seem blind eg. Many on linkedin defending Nancy Pelosi and her husband saying that they weren't insider trading as they didn't make much money from it...
Do people care or know about an 87 year old law. It's not new...
U.S insider trading offences do not require a profit to be made (see section 16 insider trading of the 1934 Act)
Watch the extreme left rationalise whatever and defend Pelosi in this thread.
Not saying she is guilty but the facts warrant thorough investigation. Same with Biden's shady past but the blind left ignore these suspicious circumstances.

i don't think there's even one person on this forum that champions nancy f***ing pelosi or her republican equivalent mitch mcconnell so you're barking up rhe wrong tree. you need to hit the streets and find the white yuppies hanging outside starbucks in order to challenge that ilk. you can spot them from a mile away wearing a mask outdoors while somehow drinking a coffee.

Haha, yeah. The people in charge of the US have like 20% approval. Good system. :lol
Biden isn’t remotely left. Neither is Pelosi or the vast majority of Democrats.
Australian? Sounds like flabby

There are plenty of criminals on both sides of the political spectrum. The problem is that we're depending on their fellow criminals to investigate them and decide on their punishment, so most of the time they just skate.
What?

I was actually referring to somebody else. :facepalm

That is surely one of the least known laws on the books. However, law does not differ too much for most crimes in the different legal systems around the world. The main sentencing that differs is for Murder. Manslaughter is not an accepted term in most jurisdictions.

The OP is a Trumpie.
Paul bought the stock by exercising a call option, which allows investors to speculate on stocks they do not own by entering into a contract that allows them to buy a stock at a later date at a promised price. The upshot: a call option is a good tool for an investor who believes the stock price will go up in the future. In Pelosi's case, the call options he'd previously bought for Alphabet (which were due to expire the day of his purchase) allowed him to buy it at $1,200 a share while the shares closed that day just over $2,500, a difference that accounted for his profit.

No. I would have voted what was best for the country. That happened to be Trump in 2020 but I don't like the guy.
Plus your post proves my point in my original post. It doesn't matter in this case how shares were bought or if there was a profit. The criminal aspect is the point.

I doubt you are a lawyer and if so, you seem like one from the movie Idiocracy.
Your generalisations above seem misguided.
Don't mean to be a jerk as you might be super intelligent but your post is impossible to assess. The world is a big place and I don't know anyone who knows the criminal law in all countries so they could compare them.

No, I'm not a lawyer... well, it is similar in most of the world. It seems that you're subliminally calling me an idiot. I can see you don't see my point; the man probably knew the law pertaining to Insider Trading in Australia, and it's probably the same as the law pertaining to Insider Trading in the United States. It's true that some people study law at law school without going into the field, and some people understand and interpret the law better than other people do. It can seem a bit random among the world population, as well.

Yes.
If you think Trump was good for the country, you are ignoring all the evidence.
And quit bloviating about your original post, I already rebutted it with mine.
Address what I posted.
Legally bought options, legally transacted on the last day they could be converted, making a profit. Something you, or I, or Trump could do.
What specifically was criminal?

I don't argue with morons. You're blocked as you keep creating alternative accounts. Sad.
